03.01.2022 - Ramsay helps to deliver Sydney’s mass COVID-19 vaccination hub A mass COVID-19 vaccination hub has opened at Sydney Olympic Park with Ramsay Health Care workers set to help administer up to 30,000 jabs each week. In its first two weeks of operation, the hub will deliver the Pfizer vaccinations to priority groups including healthcare workers, emergency service workers, quarantine and border workers and their households. ... From 24 May, the hub will complete approximately 5,000 vaccinations a day and will administer both the Pfizer the AstraZeneca vaccines in separate pods. Members of the general public aged 50 and over can register for the AstraZeneca Vaccine from Wednesday 12 May. Individuals aged 40-49 can now register their interest in receiving the Pfizer vaccine though the hub. Ramsay Health Care’s Chief Nurse, Dr Bernadette Eather, said the organisation was pleased to partner with the NSW Government to establish the mass vaccination hub, and congratulated NSW Health on the opening of the hub, which took 20 working days to complete. Our dedicated nurse immunisers, registered nurses and pharmacists will be among the hundreds of clinical staff on site at Sydney Olympic Park to help administer this very important vaccine rollout, Dr Eather said. We are still looking for more staff, especially registered nurses, to be part of the vaccine hub so if you’d like to be involved please get in touch with your manager for more information. I am also pleased to advise that all remaining Ramsay staff and doctors who have not received, or been scheduled to receive, their vaccination can now book into the mass vaccination hub. The sooner we have our staff vaccinated the safer they are and the safer our community is, so I encourage staff to book in for their jab as soon as possible, Dr Eather said. The COVID-19 vaccination hub will operate six days a week from 8am to 8pm.
