25.01.2022 The team of Deb Goodsell, Maria Middleton and Lita Gil went down in the first round of the District Triples to the team that evetually won the final, Janette Pigg, Rhonda Ingrati and Gwen Buick from St Georges Basin. They only lost the game by two shot, the score being 18-16 and they acquitted themselves very well. They also displayed good manners when playing. We are very proud of you girls. Today we had a good roll up of ladies so had 4 rinks in play. Maria Middleton, De...b Goodsell and Shirley Toohey had a nice win over Dot Larter, Rickie Gilligan and Nerida Golinksi 33-12. Josie Gensen, Faye Potter and Val Coller also had a win against Pam Brown, Norma Williams and Chris Brown 20-15. Betty Jorgensen, Tracey Lymbery and Linda Alexander had a close win against Robyn Watyson, Helen Day and Lin Hulbert. The fourth rink had a set of fours with a swinger. Margaret Webb, Lita Gil, Carol Hollands and Deion Thurston faced off against Ethel Neal, Lita Gil, Jan Rouse and Lorraine Crosswell. Deion's team won the game 23-12. Well played to all and it is lovely to see everyone back on the green. Do Not forget that Thursday is the combined Social Day at Bomaderry - dressed in something pink to support the cancer centre - so no bowls at Nowra. The club Major Minor Tournament has been drawn and the first round is to be played on Tuesday 8th Oct. See more

25.01.2022 We had a delayed start for the Club triples with the bowls not played on Tuesday due to rain ( and cold). So today we had lovely conditions for the first round today, Thursday. Norma Williams, Lita Gil and Coral Blazely went down to Lin Hulbert, Bev Poulton and Nerida Golinski 20-12. The second game had Jan Rouse, Maria Middleton and Lorraine Crosswellalso go down in their game against Ida Ferchow, Linda Musgrove and Shirley Toohey 29-9. Thanks to Faye Potter for her umpiring... skills. We also had one game of social bowls with Pam Brown, Noreen McPherson and Faye potter have a win against Josie Gensen, Margaret Webb and maureen Snell 29-14. Good to see Maureen back at bowls. Congratulations must go to our ladies who played in the State Carnival in the Gosford area. Faye Potter, Lin Hulbert, Nerida Golinski and Shirley Toohey were so close to a place, missing out by only 1 point. Well Done ladies. The next round of the Triples will be played on Tuesday - see you all there. See more

15.01.2022 Nowra played host to the District Minor Pairs Championship today with a full green of colourful uniforms. Unfortunately most of them were covered by rain jackets as for the first part of the morning as the ladies got soaked but carried on with the bowls. Our girls that were playing, Lita Gil and Maria Middleton were up against the team from St Georges Basin, Ilona Thelander and Rusty Forbes. This was a great game with the scores neck and neck all morning. The girls were tie...d on the last end so had to have an extra end to finish this game. Sadly our girls went down by one shot on this extra end with the scores ending up 19-18. A big thanks must go to Faye Potter and Nerida Golinski who were out in the cold doing the duty of Umpires. I must also thank Faye Potter for organising the morning tea and for those helpers who came along. Rose Stuart, Lorraine Crosswell, Deion Thurston, Nerida Golinski, all hard workers. I also thank Megan for the lovely lunches - she was very busy, thanks to the bar staff for catering to our ladies so promptly. Also thanks to Mark Kiss for helping with the set up last night. If I have missed anyone please forgive me. It was a very successful day with all players seeming to be happy. See more

13.01.2022 It was nice to see a few more players at bowls today. A few ladies have been out and about playing in other club tournaments and acquitting themselves well. We also had three ladies visiting from St Goerges Basin who joined us for some social bowls. Lovely to see you ladies and hope you can join us again at some time. Maria Middleton, Lita Gil and Linda Alexander had a strong win over Jan Rouse, Lyn Stubbins and Shirley Toohey 25-14. Linda's team could not put a bowls wron...g - well done ladies. Betty Jorgensen, Lorraine Crosswell and Margaret Sellars had a very close game against Norma Williams, Deion Thurston and Bev Poulton 20-18. Bevs team started very slowly but came back strongly to give the opposition a scare.. Noreen McPherson, Deb Goodsell and Lin Hulbert also had a close win up against Pam Brown, Anne Bennett and Nerida Golinski 16-15. This game also found Nerida's team off to a very slow start butb they came back well. Saturday is the Billie Reid Shield, so those who have put your names down do not forget that lunch will be served at approx 12PM. Apparently a couple of our girls will be assisting with the serving of this meal but the men will be setting up. Should be a good day. If you wish to play in the Mixed Championships and do not have a partner then just add your name to the list on the Men's Board and they will supply a partner.

11.01.2022 winners and runners up

11.01.2022 We have been very fortunate in having the sun shine on our ladies who entered the District Minor Singles. Maria Middleton had a good run defeating Bonnie Roberts of M/U 25-2, but sadly went down to Susan Jamieson in the next game 25-18. Well done Maria. Lita Gil also went well and got through to the finals. Lita Won the first game against Dianne Rup M/U 25-20 the second game against Ann Trudgett SI 25-20, Third game Carolyn Addison SGB 25-18 and in the semis against a very e...xperienced Dale McLachlan BOM 25-22. Unfortunately Lita went down in the finals but not without a fight against Julie Cotton 25-18. Marvellous effort Lita. Now to our social bowlers- our ladies have been out and about supporting Lita and Maria so our turn out has not been great. with only one game on the 23rd July .Josie Gensen, Lita Gil and Faye Potter had a win over Pam Brown, Linda Alexander and Betty Jorgensen 26-15. 25th July Pam Brown, Betty Jorgesen amd Lita Gil lost to Josie Gensen, Deb Goodsell and Lorraine Crosswell 17-13. The 30th July had two rinks playing with Josie Gensen, Linda Alexander and E Ferchow being defeated by Betty Jorgensen, Bev Poulton and Faye Potter 10-7- only playing 10 ends.THe second game had Rickie Gilligan and Liz Harris being beaten by only 1 point against Pam Brown and Linda Musgrove 18-17. Today saw the beginning of the envelope draw so we will see how this comes together later. Also please put down your names on next years Pennants list to allow the Selectors to have a good lot of time to make their decision as to grades to be entered. See more

09.01.2022 The finals of the Minor pairs were played today and you would have thought that the wind would play havoc with the bowls. Lorraine Crosswell and Rickie Gilligan had a strong win over Angelita Gil and Deb Goodsell. It wasn't that Lita and Deb played badly it was just that Lorraine and Rickie could not seem to put a bowl wrong. Some beautiful bowls were put down with very close heads even though the wind had an impact on their trajectory. Lita and Deb would be sitting on the j...ack until Lorraine came through with a bowl that took out the lead. This final was a great game to watch so a big congratulations must go to all four players. Rickie and Lorraine won the game with a score of 25-5 - not a true picture of the game. Thanks ladies and well done Of course after the final we all shared a lovely luncheon with the ladies bringing some lovely tasties for us all to enjoy. Thanks Megan for all the work you do for us when we have these events. Thanks to Nerida for sitting out there doing the duty of Umpire. We also had four ladies who faced the wind to have a social game of pairs.Pam Brown and Faye Potter had a good game and a win over Linda Musgrove and Bev Poulton.

Those watching commented on the good standard of bowls being played. Linda Musgrove also had a good win over Dale McLachlan in the same event. Hoping to see both Faye and Linda in the semi finals at Nowra tom...orrow. We also had two games of the pairs championships played today. Norma Williams and Deb Goodsell ahd a close win over Josie Gensen and Pam Brown 18-14. Our Last Day of bowls today saw the girls all dressed up for Xmas and taking the green for a short period before the day's celebrations began. The second game had Tracy Lymbery, Rickie Gilligan and Bev Poulton winning over Pam Brown, Betty Jorgensen and Deion Thurston 18-13. The ladies then came inside and the fun began. Rickie and Bev presented the winners of our club championships with their prize winnings. At 12 we all went up to the dining room which had been masterfully set up by Linda Musgrove and Faye Potter with the help from their elves Robert and Denis. The tables were beautifully decorated and the effort by these two is gratefully appreciated. Our meal began with lots of chips and chocolates as an entree followed by a main course of ham, pork and veges and then Fruit salad and icecream or Xmas pudding and cream. Lovely , well I finished all of mine. Our show which was produced and directed by Ethel Neal began with a skit about the lastest delivery of a new member starring Tracy Lymbery, Faye Potter and Deion Thurston and Matron Margaret Webb. Young Talent time was then presented by Linda Musgrove ( Johnny Young)with Jan Rouse, Ballet, Deion Thurston, Rose Stuart, Tracy Lymbery and Faye Potter, the singing group and lastly the artistic piano player , Carol Hollands. The judges Margaret Webb and Bev Poulton faced a hard task issueing points to each act. A video will be added shortly for a great laugh. See more
