25.01.2022 Shoalhaven Potters are holding their monthly makers market on Sunday, 23 May from 9am to 1.30 pm, next to the Pyree Village Hall, Greenwell Point Road in the Sh...oalhaven. Lots of Pottery, woodworking, embroidery, jewellery, plants, stone carving, gifts, cards, jams, preserves, soaps, lavender, hats, scarves, babywear and lots more. There’s also light music, hot and cold food and a coffee van. Please come out and enjoy the market but in this new Covid era, if you have any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with symptoms, please do not come to the market. The market is a registered covid safe activity, following government recommendations to help prevent the spread of covid. The NSW Health Order has been amended for non food markets to now include electronic check in via a QR code with the option of a sign in book. Remember to check this page on the Sunday morning before going to the market if the weather looks bad. See more

16.01.2022 In early November 1918, Australians knew that the end of World War I was imminent and that an armistice was about to be signed between Germany and the Allies. A...fter some false reports and premature peace rejoicings, the armistice was finally signed in France at 5am on Monday 11 November and came into effect at 11am Paris time. 14.01.2022 Today is International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Despite human rights advancement, sexual and gender-based violence is still a lived re...alty for so many women daily. Often we think of violence as being physical. However, sexual and gender-based violence is any act that is perpetrated against a person’s will and is based on gender norms and unequal power relationships. An exercise of power, coercion and control is what drives violence. It can be physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, economical or technological in nature, and can take the form of a denial of resources or access to services. When we understand different forms of sexual and gender-based violence that can be perpetrated against women, we are much better equipped to both prevent and respond to this violence. #16Days #AllVoicesForSafety
