23.01.2022 EnergySafety (April 2013) is concerned about the number of reports received about unenclosed joints in insulated cables in ceiling spaces and similar areas. They present a serious potential hazard and must be rectified when discovered. In the 1970's and early 1980's, joints for electrical cables in ceiling spaces were often only wrapped in insulating tape, which deteriorates, leaving exposed live wires. If you think that you have electrical work in your home dating from this period, then please call N P Electrical on 0423 488 048 to seek advice on the remedial work that will need to be carried out

Affected units would have been sold to electrical wholesalers or solar contractors/installers between July 2013 and 10 October 2014.... 19.01.2022 WA homes are switching to LEDs (light-emitting diodes) light fittings. They are a cost effective and eco-friendly alternative to recessed low voltage down lights. Depending on the type of down light already installed either LED globes can be fitted or the fitting can be changed over for a LED fitting. LED lighting uses approximately a quarter of the electricity and has a lifespan of approx. 25 000 hours compared with 3500 hours from halogen globes. This saves you money and helps the environment at the same time! More and more of our clients are switching to LEDs. We can supply and install LED fittings and/or globes, but be quick as due to the high demand, stocks are limited at WA wholesalers.

16.01.2022 Inspector's Order issued on high voltage (HV) switches EnergySafety today issued a media release on new safety precautions for the type of fuse switches involved in the 3 February Morley Galleria Shopping Centre explosion. An Order issued today by EnergySafety, requires all HV oil-insulated combined-fuse switches produced by Long and Crawford Manchester be completed disconnected from the electricity supply before any person may open the switch's lid. The Morley Galleria accid...ent was stark evidence of the inherent danger associated with these switches. It is unsafe to perform work on any item of electrical equipment while it remains energised, especially high voltage equipment EnergySafety are looking into all aspects of these switches as part of the investigation process following the Morley Galleria accident and the Order we are issuing today is made in light of evidence we have to date.
