24.01.2022 Another great night of poker on Monday at the Av Tav. Don’t forget this week is our $500 game at the Sun (everyone is welcome except Mitchell Marquardt) and this Sunday is our big game. Also, for the first time in weeks, a bonus hand didn’t go off, better luck next time to all our players. The 20k meal chip up is very nice especially when it comes with such good food. Our 5th place finisher and first out on final table for the night was Mary, showing the twins how it’s done.... On the bubble tonight was none other than Wheelz, although he missed the money he is still playing better than Matty. The ever consistent podium placer at Av Tav, Ray is back to claim another 3rd, putting himself on the podium five weeks running, very impressive. Kris was up to his seemingly usual game of having only a few chips at the break to coming all the back and finishing second for the night. With the undisputed best name tonight, Mitchell was tonight’s winner, playing consistently well all night and taking out first place, simply well done. Ray Kris Mitchell

21.01.2022 Don't forget to get your poker fun in the Sun Hotel tonight. Another great night of poker at the Av Tav by all and it was off to a quick start from Riva who hit a straight flush first hand! Most players were taking advantage of our massive 20k meal chip up. Our 5th place finisher and first out on final table for the night was Eddie.... Ash had been looking pretty dominant all night taking people regardless of which table he was on, but unfortunately he would be the nights’ bubble boy. Zac was our bronze place getter, unlucky not get further but happy to pick up the nights third place and maybe show his brother how it’s done... Ray seen yet again on a final table at the Av Tav, but when he flopped middle pair with a flush draw he was all in against Rob’s AJ two pair who wasn’t going anywhere. Rob dodged the flush on the turn and river and claimed first for the night. Zac Ray Rob

15.01.2022 2021 Rnd - 17 Av Tav Another great night of poker at the Av Tav on Monday night. We started off the night with Gerry hitting his quad aces. ... Rob was our first one out on final table, shortly followed by Liam '2-Card' and Beade. Our bubble for the night was Karim, and after a short time playing 3-handed Chris took home 3rd. Then Mitch and Boyd played heads-up but with Mitch down nearly 4 to 1 it was all but decided. Chris Mitch Boyd Sun Hotel The usual mad feeds, fun times and hot cards were had at the Sun on Wednesday. Mitch after a great night on Monday featured on another final table on Wednesday though he was first out tonight. Next out the door was Craig who was shortly followed by Vince. Our bubble for the night took some time to decide but eventually Zane took the fall. Taking home 3rd for the night was Shane. Our final two decided to split the money and play one hand for the points. Shane Rennie Chris Bushy Beach The usual Friday night funny's were had along with some quite interesting cards. 11.01.2022 A wonderful night was had by all for our second $500 night. Some great poker was played one of the biggest hands played was by father v son with Matt and Mitch with Mitch coming out on top. Rennie was our bubble tonight with Blair getting out while final table was about to sit down. George was our next bubble just missing out on the money. A lot of swapping chips occurred for about the next 45-1 hour before Shawn was out in 3rd. Riva who was big stack for majority of the n...ight but fell just short in second to our big winner Zach. Well done all. Special thanks to Sash in her first game behind the laptop . See more
09.01.2022 At the start of the day we started with 34 runners, it took a while before the first person was out the door walking. After that the dominoes fell and soon we were at our top 10. It wasn't long and wheelz was sent home for a nap. Scott was next after the dreaded river card got him. Zach ran into the immovable object named Doug. After an accidental misread of the board Michael was out. Bubble for the final was Jackie. Burt couldn't keep up with the blinds and was our bubble fo...r the money. Shane Miles came back from short stack to take 4th and $100. Luck box Sasha had everyone wondering where she was getting all her Aces from and took 3rd with $300 in her pocket. Bounty winner Doug sat pretty most the afternoon and took 2nd and $500. Shane dove looked unstoppable most of the day and is going out for a Chicken dinner tonight taking 1st and $800. Thank you to everyone who attended our first monthly big game and hopefully we can see more faces and a bigger prize pool for the next one.
09.01.2022 PSA**PSA**PSA**PSA**PSA**PSA Hi all, while some COVID restrictions on numbers are easing we still have to strictly abide by the ones in place. Everyone must still sign in to the venue with their full correct name, address and time of entry. Failure to do so can mean huge fines for our venues and will also mean you are refused entry. Thanks for your help and patience with making our games as safe and fun as possible during these times.
09.01.2022 Another great night at the Ave Tav on Monday. Good to see heaps of people taking advantage of Greg's delicious poker meal deals and our mega chip up's. We gave away another $50 when the straight flush went off to Dan, nice one mate. Final table saw Vanessa, Anthony, Zac, Ben and Zac battle it out with a lot of chip swapping. ... Vanessa was the first to fall victim, then it was Ben for the bubble. Zac Sinclair was 3rd and Zac Amos was 2nd. Anthony beat away all comers to take out top spot, very well played mate. Well done to all, see you again next week.
09.01.2022 It's Monday and it's game on
08.01.2022 Alllllllrighty then.......this week's results are in. Monday night at the Ave Tav we saw another great turn out. It is so good to see everyone supporting our events, the venue and having a great time. As we got down to the nitty gritty on the final table it was Blair who was first to fall in 5th.... The ever consistent Riva was the bubble in the 4th. Zac who was up and down like an elevator all night managed to snag the cash in third. Dan who had looked good all night and the unpredictable K-Man fought it out for top place. It went back and forth a bit before Karim was crowned the eventual winner. Our last Friday night at the Sun, with the return of six-handed play being warmly welcomed by the players. Thankyou everyone for doing your bit to ease our way through the restrictions. With Queensland cheating their way through another Origin series finally over we will be back to Wednesday nights next week. It sure turned out too be a marathon encounter with end not coming till near midnight! It was already getting late when Shane took out both Scott and George in the one hand to make our final table of 5. Anthony battled on gamely for a while until he was the first to exit the final and taking out 5th. Asti would be our bubble for the night, just missing out on the cash in 4th. Our final three had two of our place getters from Monday night showing a high level consistency in their games. After moving chips around the table, Blair ended up short stacked, and went all in running straight into Shane’s pocket queens. Then we had a heads up match between Karim and Shane, after some back forth for a while, Shane would ultimately go on to win with pocket 6’s, despite the counterfeit scare. Blair Karim Shane

07.01.2022 We are back at the Sun tonight. Stay tuned for some big news.
07.01.2022 Results: Round 1 2021 AVE TAV New year, first game back at the Av Tav looked to be a slow start but picked to be quite an enjoyable night. Not long after we were back from the break, Phillip picked up a straight flush.... Just missing out on final table was both Alan and Beverly who were out at almost the exact same time. Rob was our small stack at the table, and was consequently first out on final table taking home 6th place. Scott followed him after not long being the next smallest stack, just bubbling the money tonight was George. After an eventful hand with an all-in before it was realised to be a mis-deal. Lari lost a large portion of his stack in the hand that followed. It wasn’t long before he went all-in but was called and taken out. After some good heads up play on display between our two remaining players, Gerry and Riva decided to split the money, with Gerry getting pocket tens he looked set to take home first place, but trip fours on the flop from Riva and no tens in sight sealed the deal. Lari Gerry Riva The Sun First game back at the Sun in 2021 and what a game it was, with a staggering 44 runners for the night there was surprisingly no bonus hands going off. Riva was our first out on final table with a three-way all-in of a hand. And out not too long after was Nick. Our last girl standing tonight was Rachel in her first game back in a few months. Our bubble for the night was Zac who unfortunately just missed out on the money tonight. Taking home the bronze tonight would be Laurence, who proved to be the best of the Perryman’s tonight. After some good heads up play on display from Matt and Simon, Simon eventually doubled up to be our chip leader with pocket 4s vs AK off. Not too many hands later it was all in the middle with J9 vs A7 and our winner was declared. Laurence Matt Simon
