25.01.2022 The NQAC held our annual wings night on the 3rd of October. Many thanks to AMA for hosting. Everyone had a great night.

24.01.2022 Dear All, As most of you are already well aware there is a significant amount of roadworks between Cairns and Mareeba currently. Please allow at least an additional 20 minutes to travel to Mareeba airport for a lesson or flight. If you are travelling in the very early morning or late afternoon you will not be as effected. We understand these delays are causing frustration, however these roadworks are much needed. There have been a number of fatalities in the last 5 years and these improvements will make the road so much safer. We have received notification from Main Roads that there will be roadworks also commencing on the Vicary Road Mareeba Airport intersection from Monday next week. Stay safe. NQAC.

You always have respect for the amount of time taken to restore this piece of history. Stars and Bars was the objective and completed with two of the best Mike and Paul. 15.01.2022 A big week for the NQAC this week. A Cessna 182Q will be coming on line soon! Nathan Sant and Bill Owen flew to Broken Hill on Wednesday in Bills Bonanza to pick up the aircraft. Nate picked up the 182 and they flew back in company over two days via Charleville and Longreach. A very successful ferry flight with good weather all the way. A MASSIVE thankyou to Bill Owen who donated his time and aircraft to make this happen. With state borders snapping open and shut this was a lucky break. UTO will be on line soon, so standby for further information.

12.01.2022 Some different countryside today. A first light departure down to Harrogate Station, near Richmond. Black soil plains and an airstrip with no trees made for very different scenery! This area of Qld was hard hit by the 2019 floods that claimed approximately 300,000 head of cattle.

03.01.2022 The big clean up at AMA today for tomorrow's big 2020 Wings Night. LOTS of hospitalised aircraft had to be moved out, equipment moved and the floor scrubbed so you can see your reflection in it! We have a big night planned with 2 guest speakers and heaps of presentations and achievements. It's been a massive year for the NQAC with record numbers of flight tests and solo's. Thanks to NQ Warbirds for providing the T6 Havard as the back drop for tomorrow night .
