25.01.2022 Last night we celebrated the challenging yet successful sailing season of 2020 at the Commodore's Dinner. Thank you to all the sponsors and crews who attended the evening. Also a special thank you to our commodore Cheryl, and the whole NQCYC committee. Congratulations to the Air Apparent crew on winning the club championship once again. Well done team. We're looking forward to you trying to defend the title next year. There is still plenty of sailing action happening in the next 3 weeks with our Summer Series starting on Saturday 5th December.

23.01.2022 Sailing resumes this weekend, Twilight on Saturday, Daniels Family Race Sunday. Hope to see Sailing Members and Non Sailing Members enjoying the ambience of the Bar and The Cafe.

23.01.2022 It was a great turnout for the ladies skipper race yesterday with 9 yachts competing. Good to see so many women enjoying our beautiful bay. Thank you to Whitsunday Ag Services and Floral Notes for sponsoring the race. Despite missing the start, with a bit of luck and a lot of skill Fiona took the well deserved win on Capricorn Dancer for the second year in a row. Well done Fiona and crew.... Only 12 seconds on corrected time separated Ruthless (skipper Diana) in second and Risky Business (skipper Robyn) in third. 22.01.2022 Today, the Club hosted The Don McLean Memorial Race, 7 Yachts raced with Air Apparent taking line honours and as tradition has it, having to cook the Bar B Q "yet again" this was the second Memorial race on the revised racing calendar, the first being in memory of Warren Dickinson, on behalf of the NQCYC I would like to thank Mrs Margaret Dickinson and The McLean Family for their continued support of their Memorial Races, these races help keep the spirit and memory of these two very fine Gentlemen/Yachtsmen alive. 21.01.2022 It was great to see 11 yachts competing in the first race of the Summer Series, sponsored by Brent Stocker Electrical. Pronto was flying along nicely and finished first. Let's see if they can win the whole series, which continues Saturday 12th and Saturday 19th December.

15.01.2022 Plenty of sailing action again this weekend, after Air Apparent got the double in last week's Stan Roberts Memorial race, with the sponsor Pete Davies on board. A perfect breeze is predicted for Saturday's casual sail, starting from 1.30pm, and Sunday's Spindrift race around Gloucester Island. While it might seem like a good idea to stop at Cape Gloucester Resort for lunch, it's not going to win you any of the prizes put up by Spindrift's old owner Bruce Shanks.

13.01.2022 Last Sunday we welcomed the Commodore on board for the Commodore's race. Kameruka took the well deserved win, before Capricorn Dancer in second and Risky Business in third. Air Apparent took line honours. This weekend the twilight sail will be replaced by the Ladies Skipper Race, starting at 1.30pm on Saturday.

As of today Friday 24th July, patrons are still able to go to the Bar for service, however, they must return to their seats and remain seated. The Social Distancing rule of 1.5 mt is still in place. 10.01.2022 Despite the Cock o' Gloucester being cancelled this year, there is still a lot of action happening at the Yacht Club this weekend. The Saturday cruise starts at 1.30pm with a lap around Stone Island, followed by drinks at the bar and a BBQ on the lawn (BYO - the club barbie is available for use). Everyone is encouraged to bring a fire pit and firewood to keep ourselves warm from the winter night. Bringing a camping chair is also encouraged. Please note that social distancing... rules will apply. Tomorrow the Warren Dickinson Memorial Race will start at 11.00am. The BOM is forecasting a nice breeze for today's casual sail, and a calm day tomorrow. Should be a cracker of a weekend!

This weekend we are looking forward to the weekly Saturday sail starting at 1.30pm, and the Commodore's race on Sunday with a 12.00pm start. Weather conditions are perfect for both races. Next Saturday (22nd August) it's the ladies' time to shine, with the ladies skipper race starting at 1.30pm. This annual event is al...ways a lot of fun and we are proud to see more and more ladies out there. 03.01.2022 TUESDAY 10th Nov. The TOWNSVILLE BULLETIN, will feature Photos from The Snells Memorial Race, Yachts and Crew pinked up to raise awareness of Breast Cancer. Funds were raised through Raffles, Bandanas, Pink Cup,Cakes, other Pink Stuff and The Bar B Q, $300 of monies raised went toward Cancer Research. $250 went back to the Clubs Social Coffers. 02.01.2022 The Old Salts Memorial Race, won by Effie, Cap Dancer and Ruthless 2nd and 3rd, on a very windy afternoon. Thankyou to The Feeney Lads, Ken and Martin also good friend Jim Bullemor for providing the entertaing look into the past history of Old Salt Charlie Feeney.

02.01.2022 What a great weekend to resume our pointscore races. The BOM predicts perfect conditions for the whole weekend. Casual cruises will continue to be held from 1.30pm every Saturday.... This Sunday we are looking forward to our first pointscore race since restrictions lifted, with the Daniel Family Trophy race starting from 1.30pm (staggered start). We are looking forward to seeing you at the bar, in the cafe or out on the water this weekend.
