11.01.2022 This week is Global Retinoblastoma Awareness Week. Retinoblastoma is a fast growing eye cancer affecting babies and young children. Because Retinoblastoma is typically a childhood cancer, parents and guardians need to be particularly aware of the Glow. Children do not often recognise that something is wrong with their eyesight and if they do, they may not be able to communicate it. The Glow medically known as leukocoria, is an abnormal reflection from the retina of the eye and appears as a white, opaque, or yellow spot in the pupil of the eye in photos taken with a flash. Watch the video below for more detail. https://www.facebook.com/juicedtv.com.au/posts/3875053962562870

09.01.2022 In Australia, approximately 90% of vision loss and blindness is preventable or treatable. The five leading causes of low vision are refractive error, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, cataract and glaucoma. October 8th is World Sight Day which is an important reminder for all of us to look after our sight by getting regular eye tests as part of our general health care. Scheduling regular eye tests can identify any possible conditions and ensure the health of your eyes.

05.01.2022 This month we are bringing awareness to cataracts. Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness worldwide. Stay tuned for our blog on cataracts later this month. Did you know? Cataracts are when the lens in the eye becomes cloudy, causing less light to pass through to the retina. This diminished light impairs vision. Most common symptoms include cloudy vision, halos or glare around lights, and poor night time vision.
