25.01.2022 Race 4 - Ross Dam Marathon breaks from the Ocean part of the Ocean Paddle Series to take advantage of access to the Ross River Dam. This paddle location is usually off limits but as part of Adventurethon we have managed to get access. It will be a great scenic paddle around the dam, taking in as much as we possibly can. Long Course is 20km and Short is 10km (a 5km option is also available through www.adventurethon.com.au) $$$$$ A discount has been applied for NQ Ocean Paddle... 25.01.2022 From Paul our 'Tail end Charlie' water safety man about Magnetic Loop. "I’ve seen some very good efforts from tail enders over the years but I have never seen anything as good as the last three yesterday. The level of skill, determination, concentration and ability to take each wave as it comes, and all while pacing themselves as they don’t have the sheer strength of the front runners, is something I will remember for a long time. There were places that I was hoping not to have to do a pick up and they paddled straight through. For me those three were the winners yesterday."

24.01.2022 Conditions are looking perfect for a downwind paddle at Etty Bay this weekend. Unfortunately some of our water safety are not equipped for these conditions and have had to pull out. This has left us with a shortfall in water safety and therefore unable to deliver a safe event. At this stage we are looking at having to cancel the event as running an unsafe event is not ok. We realise that is a huge inconvenience as people have already arranged transport and accommodation. If we are unable to secure enough water safety in the next few hours we will have to cancel the event. We will advise this evening. All entries will be refunded.

24.01.2022 Hey Paddlers, please register for Sundays race ASAP so we can buy enough burgers for the series presentation. We will also be shouting the paddlers a drink from the Sailing club bar.... Course will be based on the wind conditions, hopefully some seabreeze kicks in in the arvo !

22.01.2022 Race 6 - Date moved to Sunday 15th November to avoid clash with Onamission and Outrigger race in Mission Beach. We know a few paddlers are heading this way now (including us) so decided best to move the date. 07.01.2022 Eliminator - perfect kind of race when there is not much wind. Should be fun to see how people adapt to the shorter distance. When you get eliminated it becomes a chance to spectate the upper level of racing... something many mid to rear pack don't get the chance to see.... Can't wait
