25.01.2022 Next up we have one of my closest mates and my favourite dirty bag of carrots on #anathleteaday. Thats right its @jplclark and an absolute weapon he was. Multiple Ironman and half ironman distances races. Sprints, Noosas and even Strongman Japan before he topped it all off with a 5th place at the World Long Course Champs in his age group back in 2015. Probably would have been better had he not been sent the wrong way. 22.01.2022 As Geelong is this weekend todays #tbt Goes back to last years IRONMAN Oceania Geelong 70.3. We had five racing with some pretty amazing results. . 1. @ashtown on her way to 1st in her age group. . 2. @gracethek coming in to T2 before barnstorming her way into the lead of the elite women,only to fall with cramps meters from the line, and finish up 2nd. Mind you it was her first ever 70.3.... . 3. The legend himself @jakesharp20, who clocked a 5hr race off a very short training block. . 4. @peterdamevski on his @giantsthyarra Trinity on his way to a 15min improvement on his previous Geelong time. Gun! . 5. @gbliedz who knocked out a pb for both the swim and bike over the 70.3 distance and then on an injured foot actually sucked it up and punched out the run. Bloody legend! . . . . . . 15.01.2022 Throwing back to our Garneau 2013/14 race kit. Pre sleeves but this kit was awesome. Our first design with @ashtown and was a cracker. The materials in this kit were so comfortable and breathable. Still up there with the best around today. The guys at Garneau were the game changers in tri apparel at that stage. . . . .... . . It was the first time using a split suit. @garneau we’re the only company at the time who offered these type of suits plus the two piece in a sleeved version. Gave our athletes heaps of options. 07.01.2022 Dropped the ball over the weekend for my #anathleteaday posts. This is a day late but here it is - Sunday is race day and without a doubt one of our favourite racers ever has to be @bags.me. He started of just doing a few runs and gradually built into a full blown triathlete taking on distances from sprint to Olympic, 70.3 and finally Strongman Japan. Ill never forget Ryan at Strongman for his heroic sacrifice of his own race. With only 2 or 3 km to go he came across a stagg...ering and delirious athlete, who may or may not have been his coach, and helped him all the way to the finish line. He got me to the finish line when I would not have made it. 04.01.2022 Almost missed my #anathleteaday, so who else could I go with but the great man himself, @steelebaillie. There are so many things I could say about this legend but we will keep it nice. Hes just so driven. Even after getting hit by a car 5 weeks out from Ironman Melbourne in 2015 and blowing out both his knees, he still went on the absolutely nail that race. And have one of the most emotional family reunions youll ever see, at The Brighton Bsths, on the way into the finish o...f the race. Hes been a great supporter of the team ever since and has meant so much to myself and my family and all the athletes that he has helped along the way.
