It's only $60/year when you join and that includes up to eight different runs in a week, coached sessions, race training and info, post-run social events, education nights, access to our members-only Facebook group and other fun & interesting stuff. www.nrg.asn.au

21.01.2022 Greetings yall. I very regretfully convey the announcement that due to recent peer and government guidance on the rapidly-growing COVID-19 crisis, the NRG committee in a majority decision will be ceasing all official club-organised activities including our weekly run schedule, after this Saturday 21st March. This situation will be reviewed regularly. We appreciate that running and social activity in this club are an important part of our lives, and this decision was not ma...de lightly. We encourage members to keep running alone or in small groups as permitted and communicate freely on our Facebook group, with intentions, experiences and photos. Our maps will remain available. As a club we will be back up and running as soon as the situation allows.

10.01.2022 Our next female top contender is Robyn Bruins! 1. whats your greatest running achievement? My greatest running achievement is definitely my 10th placing at UTM...B. UTMB has the most amazing atmosphere around the event. Think the finishing atmosphere of 6ft x 10! 2. what do you enjoy most about running? I love the challenge. Working toward something and trying to push yourself further than before. Also runners are the best people. You make so many lifetime friendships along the way 3. what are you looking forward to the most about the upcoming race? This year as with all years I am looking forward to the finish line (for the 5th time!) 4. Any tips for newbies? Most importantly dont forget to have fun out there! But also take it easy till Pluvi and then dont stop till you drop at Jenolan Caves! We wish you the very best Robyn!

We want you to keep running with us, so if your membership has lapsed, please get onto www.nrg.asn.au now and renew! It's easy.

07.01.2022 NRG SUMMER TRAILS PROGRAM starts this weekend! Whether your goal is Tarawera or STS, or if you just prefer off-road and nature, theres something here for you.

06.01.2022 It's time. NRG has listened to all 90 responses to our recent members' Survey, including the write-in feedback. The committee met last night and decided to move forward with an exciting and diverse new program, based on those survey responses, anecdotal feedback from NRGers over the past two years, and some veteran trail runners too. Basically, members told us, almost unanimously, that... We need to provide for a broader spectrum of trail runners. Six Foot is too difficult to get into; NRG numbers are down. We need to recognize and promote other trail events Our current program has too much road running In addition, the number of running events has multiplied significantly, and most trail events now offer more accessible distances, to the delight of many. The number of registrants for this year's Bilpin short course, for example, was nearly equal to that of the long course. We will therefore move forward with A fresh new trails training schedule November to May Trail maps that offer distances from 16km upward. Launch night in late October Tailored modules for Six Foot, Mt Sol, UTA, other events Continuing to host club runs from Crow's Nest on Saturdays, year-round, as usual. I realize this is a radical change to a program that's been evolving for 25 years, but it needs to change with the times. If this new program is popular, we will expand it further. And, as always, our members' happiness with NRG is important to us on committee, and feedback is welcome, on here or in private.
