23.01.2022 Do you know how to keep our mob safe using face masks? Face masks are now part of everyday life in some parts of Australia. Currently, face masks are mandatory ...in some places, but for the most part wearing a face mask is only a recommendation if: - there are a lot of people getting sick with coronavirus in your community - you can’t keep two big steps away from other people. The best thing to do is to follow the advice in your local area. Wearing a mask helps protect other people in case you’ve got the virus but you don’t have any symptoms. Remember, using a mask is an extra precaution and will provide protection but only if they are used correctly. You also have to: - stay at home if you’re sick - keep two big steps away from people when you’re out - stay away from large gatherings and crowded indoor areas - practise good hygiene. 10.01.2022 With more state borders reopening, border bubbles being expanded and school holidays starting, together with Rural Doctors Association Australia we're urging ru...ral Australians to keep getting tested for #COVID19even if they are only showing the mildest of symptoms. 02.01.2022 'I can't thank them enough' Darna Mattingley says the Emerald Hospital, Rockhampton Hospital and Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia nurses and doct...ors took great care of her 11-month-old daughter, Thea, when she wasn't well. She was just very lethargic, very cuddly, very sleepy and then I couldn’t get her to eat or drink anything, Ms Mattingley said. Thea was admitted to Emerald Hospital with an upper respiratory tract infection and an extremely low blood sugar, before she was flown to Rockhampton by the RFDS. When they had to put her canula in for her drip the nurses were making faces and doing things to distract her and keep her happy, she said. Clarke was our pilot we had a male nurse Hayden, and he was just so good to her in flight. Everyone was just so helpful, I can’t thank them enough." Thankfully Thea made a full recovery and will be celebrating her 1st birthday this weekend. supplied
