16.01.2022 NRM North would like to congratulate Hutchinson Builders - this year's winners of the Soil & Water Management Award as part of the 2020 Master Builders Excellence in Building and Construction Awards. Hutchinson Builders had significant issues with contaminated soil at the UTAS Melville Street construction site. Its management included a detailed soil and water management plan that included diversion drainage, entry and exit points, and a washdown station. The contaminated so...il was transferred off-site where it was stockpiled and treated at a registered location before disposal. Hutchinson Builders is commended for the comprehensive and dedicated approach to managing soil and water throughout the project. NRM North sponsor the Soil & Water Management Award to recognise and promote industry leaders in best practice Soil and Erosion Control measures. This ties into a training program delivered by NRM North to Master Builder members to continually improve onsite management practices and improve water quality outcomes for our urban waterways.
