25.01.2022 In preparation for this weekends games and, in response to the latest update from SNSW, please abide by the following COVID safety guidelines: - Check the link below for impacted NSW case locations and follow the NSW guidelines. - Do NOT attend your training or game if you have been to a listed hot spot that requires self isolation. - Do NOT attend if you are feeling unwell. ... - Ensure only ONE parent/carer attends as a spectator per player/official. - Avoid carpools with people from different households. 25.01.2022 In preparation for this weekends games, a reminder of key Covid-19 safety rules... Game Participants: * Players and officials should arrive dressed to play AND not more than 15 minutes prior to a game commencing. You will be asked to leave the grounds if you arrive early * Players and officials must leave their game within 5 minutes of the game ending... * You are NOT allowed to wait around between games at the grounds Spectators: *Spectators are limited to one attendee per player or official participating in the game. Spectators are only allowed IF they are a parent/carer or direct family member of the game participant/official. * We strongly advise that spectators NOT attend where at all possible. In addition, to clarify * Players, officials and spectators are NOT allowed to stay at the grounds between games/timeslots. * For the purpose of COVID safety guidelines, the grounds are bounded by Cowan Road, Village Green Parade, Memorial Avenue and the houses and bowling club on the northern side. This includes the Skate Park, Playground and Tennis courts. Attendance at NSDSA Events *As previously advised, players, spectators and officials can NOT attend any NSDSA events, training or the competition if they have been to any of the NSW case locations. Please follow guidelines on the NSW Health website. Thanks for helping us keep our NSDSA competition and the community COVID safe.

To our U18 North Shore players and officials, your hard work and dedication to training in the lead up to State is commendable. After a tough year and this latest news, we are thinking of you all.

Congratulations to all those umpires who made it to NSDSA's Umpire Training Session No.1. A big thank you to Duncan, Andrew, John and Brian for a very informative session. ... 16.01.2022 SOFTBALL AUASTRALIA NEW COACHING ACCREDITATION Softball Australia is currently revamping the Coaching Accreditation system. The old system of Levels 1 to 6 are about to be changed to the following -... The old level 1-6 now looks like Foundation Coach (Old level 1 - 3) Performance Coach ( Old Level 4) High Performance Coach (Old level 5) Master Coach (Old Level 6) In NSW we are responsible for the delivery of the Foundation course. This includes: 1 Softball Batter Up Coaching Induction (Online Module) 2 Fundamentals of Softball (Online Module) 3 Training and Practice (Online Module) 4 Managing Games (Online Module) 5 Practical Competency Assessment (Assessed by SNSW) Currently, the Training and Practice (Online Module) and the Practical Competency Assessment have not been released by Softball Australia. Updating your coaching accreditation will not change you must update every 4 years to maintain your accreditation Level otherwise it is no longer valid. When you do update the only thing that changes will be as the table above indicates. If your accreditation is expiring this year I will be sending you a reminder when it is due. 14.01.2022 NSDSA GAMES 8 AUGUST 2020 CANCELLED We did a ground inspection at 7.00 pm this evening and unfortunately due to the quantity of rain already received none of the top diamonds are playable and with more rain still to arrive tonight and forecast for tomorrow they will not be playable tomorrow. Whilst the bottom diamonds are playable at this stage with further rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow we dont expect that they will be playable tomorrow so unfortunately all games f...or tomorrow Saturday 8 August 2020 are cancelled. 14.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE: NEW COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES Following receipt of the SNSW updated COVID-19 Safety Plan (dated 16 July, 2020) and subsequent discussions with SNSW CEO, the following additional safety measures are required to be implemented, effective this Saturday for the safety of our members. SPECTATORS:... * Spectators are limited to one attendee per player or official participating. Spectators are only allowed IF they are a parent/carer or direct family member of the game participant/official. * We also strongly advise that spectators NOT attend where at all possible. FIELDING A TEAM: * Where teams have less than 9 players, play-ups, play downs or play acrosses are no longer allowed. Note Teams are allowed to play with less than 9 players without forfeit for this season. They can also request a courtesy outfielder from the opposing team. * Teams can choose to either play with a reduced number of players OR forfeit the game. * Automatic outs as required under rule 8.5.2 for A grade and Division 1 are now suspended. Hence there will be no automatic outs for any team playing with less than 9 players. ATTENDANCE AT NSDSA EVENTS: As previously advised, players, spectators and officials can NOT attend any NSDSA Events, training or the competition if you have: * Visited Victoria in the 14 days prior. * Attended any of the reported case locations listed on the NSW Health Website (See link below). These measures are a change to our previous NSDSA safety guidelines and are effective for this Saturdays games and for the foreseeable future. We all have a part to play in protecting ourselves and those we interact with. Thank you for your support in helping to keep our NSDSA competition and the community COVID safe.
