11.01.2022 LIVE: We are taking unprecedented action by ordering the effective closure of South Australia’s borders. This measure will help protect the health of South Australians and slow the spread of the coronavirus.

11.01.2022 So good to see the hall being put to good use as a distribution point for bushfire aid. Michelle Leverington and her army of volunteers have worked tirelessly to make this happen. Well done to all, we live in an awesome community! Don't forget to bring the kids to see Santa, Xmas eve between 9 am - 1.30 pm Merry Christmas to all......

10.01.2022 Just been cleaning the hall in preparation to start welcoming some users back, and noticed this........'When time stood still".

10.01.2022 Please don't bring anymore fire relief donations to the hall. It is no longer being used as a drop off centre. Thankyou.

01.01.2022 NEVER TOO LATE TO BE NIFTY A throng of vibrant-aged people are getting together regularly in Nairne to celebrate all the fun things in life. Called the Nairne ...Nifty 50’s +, the group meet regularly and consist of members of all ages. Alex, who started the group as a way to meet people says it’s been a huge success thanks to donations and support from local businesses, Council, the Mount Barker Community Centre and services such as Reclink Australia. It doesn’t matter if you live outside Nairne says Alex. If you feel a bit isolated and want to meet like-minded people and have a lot of fun along the way then come along to a meeting. They are held every fortnight on Tuesdays from 11am-2pm at the Soldiers Memorial Hall on the Main Street of Nairne. Alex also believes it is very important for lonely people to get out of the house and be part of something. We go on fun excursions (mostly free), listen to interesting guest speakers and sometimes take part in exercise classes. We all have a great time and everyone helps in their own way (sometimes preparing cooked meals for the group). What can I say, we’re a nifty bunch - we may be old but we’re not over it yet, smiled Alex. For more information please contact Alex on 0412 828 868 or email [email protected]
