23.01.2022 Hard work does pay off. David Freeman has been part of our academy squad for five years and he has worked hard over this time to achieve his goals. Sometimes there were two steps back for each one forward but this has not deterred David form keeping going. He recently came first in Division 2 at the Australian National Archery Association Safari Shoot in September. In early October he competed in the ABA State Titles at Kempsey and came first in B Grade. Last weekend he at...tended the second unmarked ANAA Safari competition and shot his second division one score. This has now put him up into division one in the Safari competition. It is rewarding for us as coaches to see the hard work that we put in is now getting David to where he aspires to.

09.01.2022 Look what happens when you start to coach archers with a disability to a higher level. Training today was a first with targets set at 18 metres. Both Peter and... Blake only took a few shots to establish their aiming points. I was very impressed with how well they went and blown away with the many bullseyes shot through the session. Kindness, respect and a firm commitment to helping all archers no matter what their ability mixed with a sense of humour and we have success. See more
09.01.2022 Today at Home School Academy Training we were shooting at 18 metres. Instead of scoring the archers were marking down if there arrows were in the gold, red, blue, black, white or a miss. The focus was no longer on a score. Through the session we also worked on the bow hand placement. So the archers could get their hand into the correct position I placed a black line on their hand. The line must remain straight, so the archer can see immediately if their hand is in the wrong position. We are committed to helping our archers achieve to their potential.
09.01.2022 Level 2 and 3 Academy Training last night was focused on feeling the shot. The archers stood at 5 metres and after anchoring and aiming, closed their eyes. Time was spent holding so as to feel the nose on the string etc. Feeling how much pressure is required to set the release aid off and then analysing the follow through once the archer opened their eyes after the shot. This is coaching and training archers to know their equipment and how the shot feels.
