04.01.2022 Big couple of days in Sydney culminating in the presentation of the NSWRFS Commissioner’s Commendation for Bravery (Individual) to Deputy Group Captain Scott Campbell at the Internal Bravery & Service Awards Ceremony. Please take time to read the citation and congratulate Scott on being recognised with this award for his herculean effort. 04.01.2022 Plenty of action in the Clarence Valley today with staff taking the opportunity to visit a couple of our remote rural landholders to explore on ways we can work better together on fire management and communication. Local RFS crews assisted by crews from RFS Coffs Harbour, Forest Corp NSW and FRNSW, earthmoving machinery and RFS aircraft battled 3 separate bushfires in stifling heat around the Halfway Ck. The Franklin’s Rd fire was elevated to Watch & Act during the afternoon ...and caused the temporary closure of the M1 motorway. Police and TfNSW played a major role in managing the safe and timely opening of the road. With conditions moderating, we should be able to have these fires under control in a day or two. Great work by all. However the best part of the day was to pass on my professional and personally thanks and present the NSW Premier’s Bushfire Citation to members of the Mt Ramornie Rural Fire Brigade. Thanks all your assistance during the 2019/2020 fire season.

02.01.2022 Great to catch up the wat going crew from Tucabia Rural Fire Brigade to present NSW Premier’s 2019/2020 Bushire Citations and NSWRFS Long Service Medal to Brigade Captain Steve O’Brien. Congratulations to all

01.01.2022 The great work by our NSWRFS volunteers continues with brigades deployed to assist Clarence Valley Council clear debris off roads and carparks so that people can move around and help businesses get back on their feet. One of the more unusual jobs we have attended in the last few weeks is the recovery of a vehicle that went over a cliff on weekend. It’s reported that the driver escaped relatively unharmed. Not much can be said about the car! contributed.

01.01.2022 Great to see a tremendous mix of new and existing members from the Clarence Valley Catering Brigade at today’s general meeting and presentation of the NSW Premier’s 2019/2020 Bushfire Citation. Great story on how this brigade has grown in the past 12 months, as many of the new members just just walked in off the street wanting to lend a hand. Clarence Valley community spirit lives on.

01.01.2022 Big day in Tyringham. Pleasure to be invited along with the Member for Clarence - Chris Gulaptis and Group Captain Darin Carter to present NSW RFS Long Service Medal to Capt.
