16.01.2022 Total Fire Bans are in force from midnight tonight for the North Western, Central Ranges, Southern Slopes, Southern Ranges and Monaro Alpine areas due to very h...igh fire danger. A total fire ban means no fires in the open. With 157 fires currently burning across NSW following widespread lightning activity, follow the fire ban rules and don't be the fire risk to your community.

02.01.2022 This afternoon Walgett Head Quarters Rural Fire Brigade responded to reports of a motor vehicle fire on Brewon Road, along the River. On arrival crew found motor vehicle completely burnt, with grass fire surrounding area. Crew were able to blackout the fire. The forecasted week ahead is expecting temperatures topping the high 30's and low 40's in the Walgett area, and we ask that everyone is more vigilant with fires as high temperatures, wind and low humidity can make small... fires turn dangerous very quickly. #NSWRFS
