25.01.2022 State 70s in Port Macquarie & surrounds. Best wishes to all & a huge thank you to all sponsors & helpers.

25.01.2022 Doug is an inspiration to everyone who loves cricket. 89 years and still playing cricket with his mates and against his mates. He comes from an era of respect, hard work and thankfulness. It was my pleasure to meet him and feel him inspire me. Thanks Doug from all your mates.

23.01.2022 Port Macquarie Over 70’ NSW Championships 2020 C/- Liaison Kevin Pike Unit 405 Sandcastle 12-24 William Street Port Macquarie NSW 2444 1st June 2020. Bush Fire Beneficiaries Dear Colleagues, We hope this letter finds all our Vet Cricketers in good spirits and remaining as fit and healthy as possible until we can all enjoy our cricket matches next season. ... Prior to the Over 70’s State 2020 Championships held in Port Macquarie in February, our organising committee recognised that this event would be a great opportunity to raise well needed funds to support those unfortunate members of our community, who had suffered substantial personal property losses during the catastrophic bush fire season. We are pleased to advise that through the generous support of various sponsors and the enthusiastic and generous support from all participating teams and their supporters, the funds raised through the raffle held during the cricket week were $1,873. Again our committee would like to thank sponsors, The Westport Club, Port Macquarie Hastings Council and Hastings Sports and Physiotherapy Centre and Kingsgrove Sports Centre with carnival surpluses added to make an overall donation available of $3,000. Last week the funds were paid as to $1,500 to the Wauchope Rural Fire Service and $1,500 to The Wauchope Rural Service to be applied for the direct benefit of fire victims through merchandise vouchers. In particular our committee would now like to acknowledge and thank the principal raffle sponsors, Kingsgrove Sports Centre and Cricket New South Wales, Mr Merv Bourke and Mr Jeff Perkins for their donated prizes of various cricket memorabilia and Mr Bill Ireland for his donation of quality wines and also to all participating teams and all the Mid North Coast Veteran Cricketers, who generously supported this fundraising project. Lastly our committee is enthusiastically looking forward to welcoming all Over 70’s teams back to Port Macquarie in 2021. Please note that the dates will be from Sunday 28th February 2021 to 4th March 2021. (Meet and Greet 28/2 and Rest day 3rd March). Cheers for now Port Macquarie Committee Kevin Pike Merv Bourke Russell Harris See more

17.01.2022 Possibilities????

17.01.2022 5th February, 2020 MEDIA RELEASE The Final of the NSW State Overs 70s Cricket Championship at Wayne Richards Park today was won in a tight contest by Port Jackson Red over Tamworth.... Port Jackson Red tallied 4/121 and Tamworth were a little short with 7/100. The Kingsgrove Sports Centre Trophy was held very happily by Port Jackson Red Captain, Cuthbert Berenger. This ends three (3) days of cricket played to the highest standards by our beloved players in the Over 70s Veterans Group. As a witness to the event I can testify it looks like the best fun ever. Find a team and join in, I think I will too.
