22.01.2022 NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell has warned parents to send their children to school from next week or risk them being marked absent. NSW Premier warned parents to brace for major disruptions until a COVID-19 vaccine was found. "It will be common ... for schools to be shut down temporarily," she said.... "It will be common for a particular school to take extra measures if there's a community breakout in that community with cases. "And we just have to accept that." Ms Mitchell said schools would no longer be holding assemblies or excursions. Schools can run PE classes and sports days, although contact sports are banned. Non-essential visitors , including parents , will also be barred from entering school grounds. The Education Minister also urged parents to "exercise common sense" when dropping off and picking up their children. Many independent schools resume school next week, with most back by 1st June Federal timing.

20.01.2022 #BREAKING HSC exams delayed 5 days to give students extra time with teachers. Written HSC exams had been due to commence on October 15 but will now begin on October 20, while oral language exams have been delayed by a week to August 15, says NSW Education Standards Authority.

12.01.2022 #BREAKING $6 million in additional counselling support will be provided to students in regional areas of New South Wales as they recover from a difficult year of bushfires, drought and COVID-19- announced The Hon Dan Tehan MP Minister for Education today. "Our Government is focused on encouraging and supporting education authorities to provide safe and supportive school environments which promote wellbeing, resilience and good mental health.... Eligible Independent schools will be able to apply for two rounds of funding to cover the 2021 and 2022 school years.

12.01.2022 2020 Student Mid Term Reports scrap A to E Subject Grading - Schools will no longer have to give students an A to E grading for each subject in this year's mid-term reports, with federal Education Minister waiving the rule because of the disruption caused by the COVID-19 crisis.

08.01.2022 #NEWS Effective today, parents and carers will be able to attend end of year presentation days and P&C meetings at school. Students can also attend excursions to the ACT, according to NSW Education Secretary Mark Scott. While parents and carers will need to confirm exact arrangements with their individual schools, adults still need to continue to maintain 1.5 metres of physical distance from one another and follow all onsite health measures. This is wonderful news for our parent community, who have waited patiently for this since May 2020!

03.01.2022 #COVID19: Department of Health have confirmed from tomorrow, Friday 15th May, the following activities will be allowed in NSW; Outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people. Cafes and restaurants can seat 10 patrons at any one time. ... Households can have up to 5 visitors at any one time. Religious gatherings and places of worship can have up to 10 worshippers. Outdoor equipment can be used with caution. Outdoor pools can open with restrictions.
