25.01.2022 Hi Dodgeballers. A couple of weeks ago the Ministry of Health made an announcement with the easing of community sport restrictions. This now allows us to bring back Dodgeball to players across Sydney. The NSWDL board right now are trying to organise the 4 day competition as promised a couple of months ago BUT we have come across some barriers. As community sport had opened up, so has the demand for court space and venues are getting harder to source. We originally intended to... have quite a large comp with over 14 mixed teams, 5 men's and 4 women's teams. As players have made plans and as we enter the busy part of the year we are not sure if this is still the case. We are right now trying to source a venue for a November start but need to know if you are still interested. Please PM us if you are still keen while we source a venue. More info to come once we get confirmation of numbers. We will make an announcement by the end of the month. The sooner you get back to us the quicker we can make a decision. As always any questions please let us know.

24.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! The NSWDL Board recently met and we are now in the process of getting the 2021 season in order. We are setting ourselves an expectation to start the new seasons in mid to late March pending confirmation of venue and other things we have planned. Among other things the saddest news we have is our long standing board member Gabby has made the tough decision to leave the board. It is a massive year for her personally but we Thank You for all you have con...tributed to the Dodgeball Community and I am sure we will see you as a player this year in our 2021 season. With that in mind, Charles Huynh departed our board last year and now that 2021 is back to some kind of normality we are looking now for 2 new board members to share the workload on setting up the 2021 season. We are opening it to everyone in our community who wants to support their state league but be a pioneer is paving how NSWDL continues to grow in 2021. 20.01.2022 Hi Dodgeballers, In light of a recommendation made by the Ministry of Health last week and under the guidance of the Australian Dodgeball Federation we regretfully have to postpone the NSWDL competition this week until further notice. One of the key reasons we have had to do this is even with our current COVID Safe Plan the chance of community transmission is just too high knowing many of our players are from all areas of Sydney including hotspot areas.... We as an organisation would love to have Dodgeball back but until this pandemic subsides we have to take any recommendations from our government health departments seriously. We will make an assessment in mid September to see if we can resume this but expect this postponement for at least 4 to 6 weeks. The ADF is planning something for all players next year once our government gives us some normality and guidance on sport. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. During these pressing times we hope you all take care of yourselves and as always any questions please reach out.

19.01.2022 Notice | Ramping Down Process (Reworked post from the ADF) With the COVID-19 situation evolving rapidly, the health and well being of our community, as well as minimising exposure to risk, remains our number one priority. We have a key role to play in ensuring that we help in minimising the spread of the virus, which in turn will help our health providers have a better chance of coping with severe cases.... It is important to reiterate at this stage we are not aware of anyone in the community having COVID-19. We are also aware that in certain places the outbreak is minimal or non-existent. We the board, alongside the ADF, have decided that it is best for our state league community to go head with the below listed process: From 21st of March to 18th of April. - Australian Team Training Camp to postpone. - All State league training to postpone. - All State Leagues to postpone. These recommendations will be reviewed on the 4th of April and if they are deemed to be extended. We'd like to make everyone aware that all social leagues in NSW are privately owned and can choose not to follow this procedure if they making the choice to instead follow guidelines of NSW Health, the Australian Government or/and any local councils. 14.01.2022 Hi Dodgeballers, Many of you have reached out and trying to find out what is happening with NSWDL 2020 season. COVID-19 has really given sport in general a complete shut down and as an organisation your safety is our number 1 priority. After a lengthy discussion the board has decided that we want to run a tournament over a selected amount of days starting at the end of August. Help us host the tournament you want by selecti...ng the option you would prefer to play at in 2021. Fill out the survey here: https://forms.gle/UdFQoH4jibGUxQ1V6 Whilst the Australian Dodgeball Federation monitors national travel restrictions, and source a host, and pick the final date we want to hear your thoughts! Unfortunately due to the state leagues across the country being affected COVID-19 restrictions we are looking to replace what would have been the Australian Dodgeball Championships 2021 with a National Tournament to reconnect us all. If this tournament becomes popular we will look to also add this to our annual calendar as it's own event in the future! The options for the Australian Dodgeball Invitational are: Option 1 - Club Based Championships All of the Australian Dodgeball affiliated leagues and Uni clubs will be invited to send teams in multiple categories (Foam, Cloth, Men's and Women's) and will be encouraged to host trials locally to find the best of the best in their area! Option 2 - Open Team Registration Anyone can submit their team, but to keep the chaos at bay for the organisers we will be limiting entry to one category; Mixed Foam. We will be getting teams to select the competition-grade they are so that the competition is fun for all. Option 3 - Open Individual Registration Play alongside people from other states! Register as an individual and select your skill level. The ADF will then sort the teams as evenly as possible to make the competition fun and challenging. 06.01.2022 NSWDL Announcement: On Saturday the 14th November NSWDL ran our first tournament. In light of the tight schedule we made an administrative error that affected 4 teams who played in the Quarter Finals. This affected ONLY the top 2 teams and the rankings of the teams in 7th and 8th position. We have spoken to all teams affected and we are deeply sorry for the error made by us. We appreciate all teams understanding on the matter. The board is putting check measures in place to ensure something like this can not happen again. Once again we sincerely apologize. We are now preparing our Day 2 for finals and Men's and Women's divisions. As always any questions please reach out.

04.01.2022 Hi Dodgeballers, Since the government has lift restrictions on community sport we are in the process of finalising when NSWDL can come back. We have been in frequent conversation with our venue to find out when we can start operating and the new rules and restrictions we have to follow. ... I know you all want to come back but the world now is much different when it comes to sport and we need to ensure your safety is our number 1 priority. When we find out more information we will keep you updated. The board will come together soon to chat about next steps once we get some more info from our venue. 02.01.2022 We would like to acknowledge today’s comment by the World Dodgeball Association regarding efforts to bring dodgeball into alignment globally. We have been i...n discussion on this topic for several months now, and while we recognize the value of a united worldwide dodgeball community, this post was the first time we had been made aware of this letter. It is not our practice to publicly share correspondence of confidential nature, and certainly not prior to discussion. GAISF has directed both parties to seek a resolution to the current international situation. We have requested some information from the @world_dodgeball_association so that we might proceed in progressive discussion. It is important the community understands the complexity of the situation and that the WDBF, at the direction of its members, will always support those decisions that are in the best interests of the sport. There is no doubt the community has many questions. We will be hosting an open forum (question and answer session) live on Twitch, Thursday April 9, at 8 a.m. MST.
