12.01.2022 The inaugural NSW Hunting Stakeholder Consultation Group (NHSCG) meeting was held on Thursday 8 October 2020 The 10 industry representatives were assessed against eligibility criteria and then selected based upon their expertise in the following fields: Hunter education and training Public land hunting... Pest and wildlife management Hunting using firearms, bows and dogs Stakeholder engagement. The purpose of the NHSCG is to communicate and receive feedback on specific projects from key stakeholders who are invested in the future of regulated hunting in NSW. The first meeting focused on hunter education programs and standards under IHEA-AU (International Hunter Education Association Australia), a national chapter of the leading hunter education organisation led by NSW as well as updating the R-Licence Accreditation course and a proposed interactive eLearning delivery platform. The group strongly supported the projects put forward by GLU and were notably excited to be part of the vision that leads the way for hunter education in Australia. While the Board represents the interests of licensed hunters and provides advice to the Minister for Agriculture on game and pest animal management in NSW, the NHSCG provides feedback to GLU on specific projects and initiatives to ensure they meet the needs of the hunting community.
