23.01.2022 We've just returned from an absolutely insane weekend in the wildest country 1&1/2 hours east of Tenterfield in NSW. 11 hours from home, hard-hard-hard country. Grassroots Enduro Australia just held Round 1 of the Australian Hard Enduro Championships in the most amazing and rugged country I've ever worked in. Enduro is tough, but these guys are granite. This is Hard Enduro in absolutely every sense of the word - HARD. Tom Gleeson would be proud! 3 days camped in serene, glori...ous, green wilderness, recently destroyed by bushfire then followed by incredible rain, the recovery of this great part of the world is breath-taking. Without doubt, the most professionally organised major event we've ever been involved in and I'm proud to say that our company was selected to provide Medical Response for the entire weekend. Around 1000 spectators, 300 campsites, 250 bikes, 25km's of unforgiving track, no phone or radio contact with the outside world, completely on our own from start to finish and it all ticked like clockwork. Medic #2 - Brendon Cocks received his baptism of fire on Sunday carrying out one of the most amazing remote area fracture rescues on his own with limited resources, no drugs on hand, poor comm's, no back-up, several km's from base camp. When I got back from another job, Cocksie's patient was relaxed, splinted, drugged, packaged and ready for helicopter evacuation. Very professional job, extraordinary work in seriously hostile conditions. Job very well done. Love it when a plan comes together!

20.01.2022 Yes, sadly, like everyone else, our training services are cancelled until further notice. Our retail, kit servicing and medical equipment workshop continue to operate, but we won't be doing our scheduled site visits to service your First Aid kits. Brendon will be calling each client to check if you need anything, but we won't be entering your premises unless invited. For those who are now working from home, have you considered the WHS implications of transforming your home ...space into a workplace? Nobody gets exemptions from WHS, no matter the circumstances, virus or not. If you are working at a location, that location must have a First Aid kit. Most homes are safe, so your requirements for a First Aid kit are going to be very basic. To fill any gaps, we've reduced the price of our basic Workplace First Aid kit from $59 to $45 with free delivery in the Mudgee town area. Outside Mudgee, a flat $5 delivery fee will apply. All prices include GST. This is a comprehensive First Aid kit designed for small office spaces and minimal employee numbers. If you need a kit, call Brendon today on 0467 262 757 or contact us on FB. We've got plenty of stock and plenty of time!

20.01.2022 Masks are now back in stock. Pack of 25 up to pack of 500. Plenty available. www.nswfirstaid.com.au

19.01.2022 Training - it's on its way! We're as keen to get back to work as you are. With relaxation of isolation rules just around the corner, we have started planning for a return to work. Risk assessing training in this new world is complete and we will be ready to return to First Aid & CPR courses as soon as the NSW State Government gives the go-ahead. ... We are now taking preliminary bookings, please contact us and let us know that you want to train, we'll get back to you as soon as dates are firm. Courses will be a maximum of 9 students per session, probably for the rest of this year which means we'll be doing more courses, more often. Remember, one-on-one face-to-face training is still available but you (and we) must be able to prove that the need for your training is BOTH 1: Urgent and 2: Essential. The risk of losing your job because you don't have First Aid currency is neither urgent or essential. In most cases, workplaces have been given temporary exemptions from prosecution if their staff are not "current" in First Aid. If you're not sure, give us a call.

11.01.2022 Thanks to our friends at Image Signs in Mudgee for another outstanding professional design job. Our latest creation, a new Ambulance going onto the ship next week bound for the Island of Niue. Niue is building its resources in preparation for the "South Pacific Bubble" allowing travellers to move from country to country throughout the South Pacific in a post-COVID world. So far, we've purchased and shipped containers with over 3 tonnes of hospital, surgical and emergency res...ponse equipment to the Niue Foou Hospital from stethoscopes and fetal dopplers, to defibrillators and emergency ventilators, crash carts, hospital beds and bedding, patient handling equipment and mobility aids. Next job is supplying new sanitation equipment for the hospital's sluice room and then equipping their water filtration plant with diagnostic and water analysis equipment. All supplied through our small family-run business in Mudgee NSW.

10.01.2022 An update on our First Aid training. We can confirm that training will restart next Wednesday 3 June. Courses will run under the following changed conditions, probably for the rest of this year: ~ Maximum 10 students on any course... ~ Courses must be pre-paid ~ USI numbers must be submitted by email the day before the course ~ All courses must be prepaid or paid on account ~ All students receive a free pocket resuscitation mask which is to be used during training - you keep the mask ~ There will be no communal tea, coffee or biscuits ~ A strict room & equipment sanitation process will be carried out throughout the day by our staff ~ Any person exhibiting any sign of illness for any reason will be asked to leave the course - return no earlier than two weeks and symptom-free ~ Everybody gets their own manikin, no sharing equipment ~ Clinical face masks will be available to wear during the day at no cost, this is optional, but free if you want one ~ Two students per desk, 5 desks to a room, 1.5mts separation between chairs We consider our beautiful town to be very low-risk at the moment and much of this preparation may be considered over-kill. But it takes just one person to come here to start that much-feared second wave. Our training centre is our workplace and we take safety - yours and ours - seriously. To book your course, jump online nswfirstaid.com.au or call us anytime on 6372 3888. Back to work!

Well done.

01.01.2022 Hi all! A quick update on First Aid training during these viral times. As mentioned last week, all training has been postponed 'till further notice and it's looking increasingly likely that this "further notice" thing is getting further and further away. We've been taking calls from all over the State, people desperate to update their qualifications and calling every training company they can find looking for a trainer. It's hard, we know it is, we're not making any money a...nd we hate saying NO to anyone, but we all have to take one for Team Straya to beat this bastard thing. The reality is, in most cases, the only reason you "need" to update your training is because your employer requires it. In other words, it is a company policy that people hold "current" (12 months for CPR & 3 years for First Aid) certification. It's just a simple fact that employers are going to have to review their policies in the short term, training is not available - end of story. AND.... It's illogical to assume that the day a person's certificate ceases to be "current" the person forgets how to do First Aid. So let's all just work together and get ready for when the lockdown is lifted and we can start our new normal. HOWEVER.... Amongst the calls we've been taking are from people who have a LEGAL obligation to hold current CPR certification. This is an entirely different situation and we have decided to immediately commence One-on-One training sessions as required. Legal obligations are typically people in medical roles, emergency services, people who deliver medications in the course of their work and may have to deal with an Anaphylactic or CPR event as a result of that medication. If this is you, please call me anytime on 0417 683 069 and I'll be happy to arrange your training session. The cost is the same as normal, there are not going to be any inflated fees, we just want to get you back to work as quickly as we can . We are headed for flu season and many nurses and pharmacists are going to start delivering vaccinations (big cheer for vaccinations!) and we are willing to go into overtime to get these people certified immediately. But if you don't have a LEGAL requirement to get your training, please don't ask. We have to say NO.
