At Minderoo Foundation, Adrian is CEO of the Fire Fund Initiative which was established in January 2020 with a $70 million commitment from Andrew and Nicola Forrest. The collaborative Initiative aims to see Australia become a global leader in fire and flood resilience by 2025. The... initiative is also working with communities to help them respond and recover from the devastating 2019-20 Black Summer bushfires. In addition to his responsibilities at the Minderoo Foundation Adrian co-chairs AustCyber, the national Program to build a vibrant domestic cybersecurity industry. 21.01.2022 For those concerned about Australian and NSW Government actions relating to agricultural production and supply chains please note: 1) Primary Industry production and related businesses and the entire food supply chain is an essential industry. Our fantastic teams are exploring a diverse range of on-farm, supply chain and agribusiness projects including: - XCIS: On farm connectivity innovation (Cowra) - SmartTrough: Smart simple water sensors (Young)... - YourVetOnline : Remote veterinary support (Sydney) - Knowhowhere: Integrated task and WHS management for farm workers (Sydney) - GoMicro :On farm microscopic tech for pest and disease ID (Adelaide) - Meat quality assessment for individual animals (DPI project) - Weed DNA tool (DPI project) - 3D Meat quality scanning (DPI project) - Integrated harvesting system (Hort Innovation project) - Crop counting via remote sensing (Hort Innovation project) This complements GATE corporate partner, SparklabsCultiv8 Acceleration's nine teams from Israel, US and Australia. 14.01.2022 Happy Birthday GATE! Its 2 years since GATE program launched at the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) in Orange. The GATE is an innovation space and program unique in Australia. Our mission is to promote ag tech and provide opportunities to make our research more impactful and to fast track ag tech to drive productivity. Through the GATE and corporate partner SparkLabs Cultiv8 over $40 million has been injected in new ag tech businesses and are looking to commercialise new DPI research projects along with Hort Innovation and Cotton RDC . This makes NSW DPI a stand out in terms of leadership for agricultural innovation in Australia. More work to do but a great start!
