15.01.2022 GET TESTED THIS LONG WEEKEND AT OUR COVID-19 CLINIC IN NEWCASTLE NSW Health Pathology is encouraging anyone with even the mildest flu-like symptoms to come and get tested at our drive through COVID-19 clinic at the University of Newcastle. The clinic is open from 8am to 4pm every day, with no appointments necessary. It is located at the UoN Callaghan Campus on University Drive, Callaghan. 09.01.2022 Congratulations to NSWHP’s Professor Richard Scolyer and Dr James Branley who are being recognised with honours by the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA). Professor Scolyer is receiving the Distinguished Fellow award, the highest honour of the RCPA, recognising those who have attained eminence in their field. Dr Branley will be the first recipient of a new Special Service Award, honouring outstanding contributions via a particular project or service. It recognises his exhaustive COVID-19 work. 07.01.2022 Meet our Director of Public Health Pathology Prof Dominic Dwyer, who has just returned from spending two weeks in Wuhan investigating the origins of COVID-19. Prof Dwyer has extensive experience in pandemic response. He was selected by the World Health Organization (WHO) to be part of a team of physicians, scientists and researchers, chosen for their expertise in animal health and animal viruses, human viral infections and transmission and epidemiology and public health.
