23.01.2022 Parts continue to trickle in. New Mantic 9000 twin plate Clutch kit and fly wheel. Should manage those 3rd gear skids. The old factory clutch never gave up, its... just due to be replaced and will go straight to the pool room on display. Big thanks to George Byrne of Brakes Direct for the quality service going the extra yards to sort my requests, supplying the Mantic Clutch. Mantic are also naming sponsors of the NSW Hillclimb Championship Brakes Direct have a first class online chat were you can, at leisure, (well I do), chat with the lads about your needs, or you can just ring up and cut to the chase. They supply my Forza Brakes for the FBU. Gotta go, gotta stop. See more

20.01.2022 ENTRY LIST - RINGWOOD HILLCLIMB, 9th August 2020.

20.01.2022 Final Points Mantic NSW Hillclimb Championships 2020

20.01.2022 Round 3 Ringwood 9th of August 2020 To all Registered Competitors. This is a reminder that entries close on Wednesday 29th July 2020 at 5.00pm.... If you wish to enter, the best way to enter now is via the Motorsport Australia Event Entry system. Failing that, you can complete the necessary Entry Form, Self-Scrutiny, and vehicle Declaration forms and email them back to me. I will also require a copy of your Club Membership Card to verify its currency. Your Licence check will be done by me via the Motorsport Australia system so you dont need to send a scanned copy of that. DO NOT try to post your entry via snail mail, it will not get here in time. I know of 3 that were posted over a week and as yet they have not arrived. To make it easy, I am attaching the Supplementary Regulations, Entry Form and the Self Scrutiny Checklist and Vehicle Compliance declaration forms. This Event is being run under the Return To Race format due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so the procedures will be different to what we have been familiar with, but at least the Event can go ahead and the competition will still be as much fun as ever. I hope to receive you entry by Wednesday night. Regards Dave Atkins MG Car Club (Newcastle) Inc. 18.01.2022 Round 1 and 2 of the NSW Hillclimb Championship were on last weekend. On the Saturday we had troubles but were still able to get 7th outright. On the Sunday We ...had some more trouble with the chain and a electrical problem. I decided to try a new sprocket which worked well giving the kart better acceleration and a top speed of around 190 kmh. In the last run I was quicker in the first sector than the class record set at the Australian hill climb championships but unfortunately I had a electrical problem just before the finish having to roll across it. This was still just over a tenth off the record set in November which put me 7th outright. Thanks to all the volunteers and people that made the event happen. Photos: Bathurst Light Car Club

17.01.2022 What a day! We had an absolute blast at Ringwood for the fourth round of the NSW Hillclimb Championship. Thanks to everyone who tuned in and has shown their su...pport of grass roots motorsport in Australia! There's plenty more to come. Thanks to (L->R) Liz, Matt, Travis and Garry for their efforts today. Some average weather was thrown our way but this group still handled everything with enthusiasm and dedication to the job at hand. I also have to say a massive thankyou to the MG Car Club Newcastle for their hospitality. The Ringwood venue is a credit to all the efforts of plenty of volunteers who are extremely passionate about motorsport. Lastly an extra thanks to Darrell and Jason Gregory. At 5pm on Saturday when we were battling the elements these guys went out of their way to help. Officiated a full day of competition on Sunday and then dropped back past to help us pack up at the end of the day. The people we have in this sport at the grass roots level are truely a great group. On to the next one. The Bathurst Light Car Club speed weekend. We hope you'll join us then! -Dan

09.01.2022 As you would have guessed by now the Kempsey round of the Championship has been postponed. The panel has has taken a wait and see approach regarding the remaining rounds. The Championship will resume as soon as possible but we all just have wait and see how it all pans out.

05.01.2022 Hi all its official SDMA has indicated to me that they are unable run there round in October due to the new restrictions, not to be unexpected. The panel has received an expression of interest from MG Newcastle to run another round later in the year. This will be determined at the next panel meeting.

04.01.2022 Hi all its with a heavy heart that I tell you we are unable to run the extra round of the Championships in September. Three of the hosting clubs have tried get an event of the ground to fill the gap but were unable to run for a number of reasons plus one big one. So after Newcastle this weekend the next State round will be the SDMA event held on the October long weekend.

03.01.2022 Motorsport Australia Resumption Strategy Motorsport Australia is committed to the safe and socially responsible resumption of motorsport in a COVD-19 environment. The AIS Framework for Rebooting Sport in a COVID-19 Environment outlines three levels under which the resumption of sport can occur (Level A, B and C). Having reviewed the Government requirements and consulted with the Motorsport Australia National Medical Advisory Committee (NMAC) and other key stakeholders, Motors...port Australia has developed a Resumption Plan for its various motorsport disciplines to conform with the requirements set by Government. In the development of this Resumption Plan, two key points must be noted; 1. Motorsport is conducted outdoors with participants isolated in their vehicle. It is a non-contact sport. Whilst Level B Restrictions remain in place, passengers, co-drivers and navigators will not be permitted. It is acknowledged that separate plans may be developed, in consultation with Government and medical authorities, that would enable the resumption of activity that involves passengers, co-drivers and navigators. This will be the subject of a separate strategy. 2. Motorsport venues invariably comprise a large site area which provides event organisers with an opportunity to segregate groups of people to ensure that mass gathering requirements are met. If the event is likely to have more than 10 people attend in total, event organisers will need to work with their venue and Motorsport Australia on the development of a COVID-19 Venue Plan to ensure compliance with mass gathering requirements. Unless the co-driver, navigator or passenger is a member of the same household and the relevant event regulations allow passengers. 03.01.2022 To All NSW Hillclimb Championship Registered Competitors. I wish to advise that we have now submitted all documentation to motorsport Australia for approval and issue of a permit for our round of the 2020 Championship. It appears we will still be operating under restricted guidelines, with changed processes in place, but I guess that is better than not having the event at all.... We ask that you use the on-line Event Entry System where possible, it could be a few days before we are able to get it up and running, so please be patient. It is also our strong preference that you pay the entry fee by direct deposit into our nominated account. Dave Atkins MG Car Club (Newcastle) Inc. Club President -2020 Supplementary Regulations will be posted when approved.

03.01.2022 The 2020 Season kicked off this weekend with Rounds 1 & 2 of the Mantic Clutch Motorsport Australia NSW Hillclimb Championship held at Mt Panorama Bathurst. Af...ter a very busy off season where we took the registration off my car and installed a roll cage, we entered this years competition in the Improved Production Class understanding we would be starting the year behind other cars in this Class, and to progressively build the car through the year. After Round 1 on Saturday taking on The Esses, we found out with the set up we were trying, we were a lot closer to the competition than we thought, finishing 2nd by 0.29 of a second with a time of 29.47 and also finishing 2nd in Round 2 up Mountain Straight on Sunday getting a new PB for that track of 51.05 sec. These times also placed me 19th outright out of 80 cars on Saturday, and 17th outright on Sunday. It is very reassuring to know that all the work that we put in over the break and the set up that we have decided to go with is heading in the right direction, so excited for the rest of the year. It was great to be part of Wollongong Sporting Car Club - Home of Huntley Hillclimb once again with 14 entrants and all having a very successful weekend, and everyone completing both days and driving their cars back on the trailer. I would like to thank Spot On Wheel Repairs for their help in our new set up. I would also like to thank Scott and Lya Mulcahy from KADE Haulage, Matt Harvie and the boys from Pedders Wollongong, Wollongong Auto Supplies, Mick from Nu-Tech Car Care, Matt and Leanne Tomlins, Mum, Dad and Alexis for all their support.

02.01.2022 Tamworth Sporting Car Club had a meeting on Wednesday night and arrived at the decision not to go ahead with the Tamworth round of the championship on July 18/19. They are however going to try a soft return to racing by holding a club event on the same weekend. The next round will be MGCCN hopefully by then the situation will be easier to manage. The panel will review the remaining rounds to try and resurrect the Championships. All being well a revised calendar will be released after the next panel meeting.
