25.01.2022 We had an entertaining and informative night with our local member for Ku-ring-gai and Cabinet Secretary Alister Henskens SC MP. He drew on his years of legal experience and related it to the function of JPs in the local area. Fantastic night!
25.01.2022 Richard and I had a very, very busy morning at the Cherrybrook Village on Saturday 19 October. We also had a wide range of requests from clients, many of which were detailed and lengthy. I got stuck on a couple of interstate issues and called JohnB. Hallelujah! he answered the phone twice and was extremely helpful. Its just wonderful to have that resource. Thanks, JohnB. 03.01.2022 Hi, Im Lydia and one of the group admins. I did the recertification exam over the weekend as I am in my 15th year of being a Justice of the Peace! It was 20 questions. Some advice to help you pass it: Sort out your login/password long before you need to recertify - https://www.onlineservices.jp.nsw.gov.au/ then follow the instructions on the link. Save your username/password somewhere safe.... Download the PDF of the official JP Handbook as some questions were exactly worded from it (https://www.jp.nsw.gov.au/Documents/jp-handbook-full.pdf). Have it open on screen. Revise the official JP Handbook before the exam and be familiar with searching for key words and phrases in the document. Allow yourself the full hour to do the exam, although on subsequent attempts 15 minutes will suffice. One hour is plenty of time for it. Read the questions carefully. If you get some questions wrong, think back to the question. The exam results screen will list the section of the official JP handbook that answered the question. Go back and look at that section. Then re-attempt the exam while its still fresh in your mind. You may or may not get that question next time around, but its great learning regardless. Remember you can do this as many times as you like, so be curious, revise and try again. If you have recently passed the exam and have some advice for people about to do the exam, please drop a comment below - no exact questions from the exam though! If you need help, please comment or send a private message. Hoping this helps you pass!
