17.01.2022 RURAL CRIME CHILDRENS DRAWING / PAINTING COMPETITION Would you like to have your drawing / painting as the covering image for the NSW Police Force Rural Crime ...Facebook Page? We thought this would be a great way to engage young children whilst in isolation. The Rural Crime Prevention Team is holding a childrens drawing / painting competition. If your child is between the age of 4 and 12 years of age, we would like to ask them to create a picture of a farm and include RCPT and a Rural Crime Investigator (RCI) somewhere in their creation. Take a quality photo of your childs artwork and attach it in a private message to our page. Include details of your childs name and age, and where you are from (town/suburb/area only, not actual address). Six winners will be picked from the entries and each picture will be featured as our Facebook background image for one week at a time over a six-week period. The winners will be picked by senior members of the Rural Crime Prevention Team and announced on this page at 5pm on Monday 4 May 2020. We have included a number of photos of the RCIs in the field. They have been provided not to copy, but to show the kids what we do and for inspiration. Also, we love colour and creativity, so please try and fill the whole page with colour and images!!! TERMS AND CONDITIONS: 1. By sending us an entry you are providing approval for the drawing, first name of your child and age to be posted on the Rural Crime Prevention Team Facebook page. 2. Drawing / painting on a blank A4 piece of paper in landscape (horizontal) format. 3. Winning entries are chosen by the RCPT, there are no prizes for winning. 4. Entries must contain RCPT and a Rural Crime Investigator in the drawing / painting to be considered for posting on the RCPT Facebook page. 5. The private message facility is only to be used for this drawing competition. Any private message sent to this page that is not an entry for this competition will be deleted. 12.01.2022 Below is a copy of the letter and schedule for the 2020 NSW Dorset Championships. On behalf of the NSW Dorset Championships organising committee, I would like ...to take this opportunity to invite you to the 34th NSW Dorset Championships. This year, due to the COVID 19 we made the decision to postpone this years event. This has allowed the committees organization of the event to meet relevant conditions set out by NSW Government and health authorities. In the lead up to this years event the drought conditions experience throughout many states has been replaced by a very good season in many areas. We are looking forward to showcasing not only the excellent line up of sheep but also the beauty of the Lachlan region. This year the NSW Dorset Championship is going to be held on the 4th and 5th September (it will return to the usual date in June in 2021). We are hoping that the restrictions on school excursions will change in time to make it possible for the schools to compete. The program has some slight changes, the performance class has been split into three classes; Senior, Intermediate, and Junior. The winners of each class will be then complete for overall Performance Ram. There has been a shorn ram lamb and shorn ewe lamb classes also added. We would like to thank Bromar for again being the shows major sponsor and the Supreme sheep will receive a Bromar lick feeder. May I also thank the many sponsors, and the other businesses and breeders who give donations, for their support. Mr Noel Wilson is not available to judge on these dates due to prior commitments and is not able to attend. Mr Wilson sends his apologies and wish all exhibitors the best. Mr Sasha Squires from Western Australia has agreed to attend to judge this event. We welcome Mr Squires to the region and hope he enjoys his stay. I am very pleased to inform you that with collaboration between the NSW Dorset Championships and Australasian Dorset Championships committee, the Australasian Dorset Championships Online Sale will be displayed on the large screen at the NSW Dorset Championships on Saturday 5th September. The Australasian Dorset Championships Online Sale begins at 1pm. This will be an interesting conclusion to the weekend. We are pleased to be able to promote the Dorset breeds by first having a tremendous show and giving breeders the opportunity to see many of the rams being offered in the online sale. We see this a great opportunity for stud Breeders from many states. With the Australasian Dorset Championships Online Sale on the afternoon of Saturday the 5th September, arrangements have been made to accommodate any sheep that may need to be housed for longer period. We look forward to your fellowship on judging day and hopefully (pending Covid19 restrictions) the dinner on Friday night. Enjoy your stay in our region. Please do not hesitate to call for further information.
