16.01.2022 Bush Fire Season to End on Quiet Note. The end of the statutory bush fire danger period today (Wednesday 31 March 11.59pm) will see the conclusion of a consider...ably quieter bush fire season across the Mid-Western Regional Council area for 2020/21. From Thursday 1 April 2021, landholders wishing to conduct burning activities on their properties will be able to do so without the requirement to obtain a permit prior until Friday 1 October 2021 (or sooner should the bush fire danger period be brought forward). That said, landholders should complete the following steps prior to lightning a fire on their property: - Seek environmental approval (if required) - Obtain a Fire Permit (if required) - Provide notifications At least 24 hours before burning, landholders must notify the NSW RFS Fire Control Centre/Fire & Rescue NSW Station and adjoining neighbours of your intention to burn - Check if it is a Total Fire Ban Day (NSW RFS)/No Burn Day (EPA) Notifications can be provided to the Cudgegong District in the following ways: Online www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify SMS 0408 116 465 Social Media m.me/NSWRFSCudgegong Email [email protected] Phone 02 6372 4434 In Person 54 Depot Road Mudgee NSW 2850 Don't be a fire risk to your community.
