23.01.2022 Investigations are underway into a fire which destroyed a NSW Police vehicle in the Central West overnight. Emergency services were called to the Hill End Polic...e Station about 1.30am (Friday 9 October 2020), after neighbours reported the fully-marked NSWPF Toyota Land Cruiser was on fire. The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) attended and extinguished the blaze but the vehicle was destroyed. Inquiries are now underway into the cause of the fire. There was no one at the station at the time. Investigators from Chifley Police District have initiated inquiries into the incident and are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact Bathurst Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.

19.01.2022 Severe thunderstorm warnings are current in multiple States this afternoon, and likely to continue across eastern and southeastern Australia with widespread sho...wers and rain on Friday and into the weekend. This afternoon we have already observed a 122km/h wind gust at Roma in Qld and 98km/h at Coober Pedy in SA with thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms are likely to impact Qld, NSW, Vic, SA and NT on Friday, before contracting to Qld, NSW and eastern Vic over the weekend. While capital cities will generally be spared the worst of the weather, rural and regional communities may see significant impacts, with damaging winds, heavy to intense rainfall leading to flash flooding and large hail possible over the coming days. Flood watches are current in SA and Vic for Friday and a Severe Weather Warning is also current in Vic for rain and storms that could become heavy Friday night into Saturday morning. Widespread rain and thunderstorm activity over the coming days could be of major concern for agricultural areas, particularly dry land crops that are approaching or currently harvesting crops. 16.01.2022 At 08-30hrs crews were called to a single vehicle MVA on the Ilford Sofala Rdwith reports of persons trapped. Trucks from NSW RFS - Ilford/Running Stream Brigade and Two Mile attended, as well as Police, Ambulance and SES. The sole occupant was airlifted out. 16.01.2022 12 Months Ago I have stewed on this all day whether to post something or not. The impact of the 21st of December is still very raw in a lot of the community.... The one comment I will say is that I, and I am sure everyone else is, thinking of you all on this day and pray to God it never happens again. Have a good and relaxing evening. 13.01.2022 PERSONS TRAPPED ILFORD MVA This afternoon at 1632hrs, crews from NSW RFS - Clandulla Brigade and Ilford / Running Stream Brigades responded to the report of two vehicle MVA persons trapped. On arrival thankfully all people where out of vehicles and minor injuries only to report.... A great response from emergency services with 3 NSW ambulances and 3 NSW Police also attending also with Mid Western Council. 12.01.2022 The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) confirms the death of a volunteer firefighter at Hill End in the Central West region. Jim Shanahan, a member of the Hill E...nd Rural Fire Brigade, had returned to the station after attending a vehicle fire in Hill End when he suffered a suspected heart attack early this morning. Fellow volunteers provided initial medical assistance including the use of an Automated External Defibrillator. They were supported by NSW SES members, NSW Police officers and NSW Ambulance paramedics, however tragically Jim passed away. NSW RFS Commissioner Rob Rogers said the Service's condolences are with Jim’s family and friends, fellow crew, brigade members and the Hill End community. We are offering every assistance possible to Jim’s family and fellow members, Commissioner Rogers said. We will continue to offer whatever help is required." No further details are available at this stage while NSW RFS personnel work with Service members and the member’s family. 06.01.2022 Fire call Ilford At 1038hrs this morning, crews from Two Mile and Ilford / Running Stream responded to the reports of a fire down Ilford Sofala Rd. After about 45 mins of searching, we found an unattended cooking fire. Thankfully the area around the fire was concrete but always remember, never leave a fire unattended. 10 people responded and we spent approx 2 hours on this job, so 20 hrs in total when it could have easily been avoided.... 2MG Mudgee Real FM Mudgee NSW Rural Fire Service

04.01.2022 At 1700 hrs yesterday afternoon, crews from NSW RFS - Ilford/Running Stream, Clandulla and Capertee responded to reports of a three car MVA with persons trapped. On arrival we found all persons where out of the vehicles but the incident stretched for 150 metres along the Castlereagh Hwy near Camerons Rd, Running Stream. One person was airlifted to Westmead hospital. We returned to our shed at around midnight. Please drive carefully on our roads. Without the recent tree remo...val from the Christmas fires, along the roadside, it could have very easily turned into a double fatal.
