With the support of aircraft and an incident management team based ...out of our control centre, crews have worked the eastern containment line along the Princes Highway under favourable east/ north east winds and are now working towards the west to lock in the southern containment line. Traffic control remains in place on the highway, so if you have a need to be in the area, please slow down and following the directions of crews on the ground. 11.01.2022 HAZARD REDUCTION ADVICE | Firefighters from the NSW RFS, WaterNSW and FRNSW will implement a 290ha hazard reduction burn west of Helensburgh tomorrow. Traffic m...anagement will be in place on the Princes Highway and forecast east/ north east winds will push smoke from this hazard reduction away from coastal communities; however with a number of burns taking place in the Greater Sydney Area we expect conditions to generally be quite smokey. The operation will commence mid-morning and will run through until Monday afternoon. Expect to see aircraft in the area as part of the planned operations. If you are travelling through the area please slow down, follow the advice of traffic controllers and crews on the ground.
