19.01.2022 NSW RFS firefighters will be undertaking a prescribed hazard reduction burn in the Woolbrook area this Saturday (subject to weather conditions). The purpose of this burn is to increase protection for the Woolbrook Public School. The purpose of this burn is to reduce the intensity and impact of a wildfire impacting the area. The landowner is currently constructing fire breaks using their tractor and slasher to minimise the chance of escape should the fire re-ignite later in the day. With a Total Fire Ban in place today and conditions expected to deteriorate this afternoon, it is important for landowners to monitor their fire grounds to ensure any fire remains within control lines, and limit potential re-ignitions once fire services leave the scene.
