The 2020/21 bush fire season will start in Wallacia and the surrounding areas on Thursday 1st October 2020. The start of the bush fire season means that all landowners and residents who are planning to undertake open burning or pile burning activities MUST have a current Fire Permit. 21.01.2022 Update, the power has been restored to Wallacia. There are currently a number of locations around Wallacia that are with out power. Endeavour Energy are currently investigating the cause and have no estimated restoration time currently. For more information: www.endeavourenergy.com.au

20.01.2022 TOTAL FIRE BAN | FIRE DANGER RATING | SUNDAY 29TH NOVEMBER A TOTAL FIRE BAN will in force from midnight tonight until midnight Sunday 29th November. This will apply to Wallacia and all the surrounding areas. The Fire Danger Rating will be SEVERE for Wallacia and the surrounding areas tomorrow.... Under tomorrow’s forecasted conditions. If any fires start they will spread quickly and prove very difficult to contain. So it important that any fires without a fire truck in attendance are reported to Triple Zero (000) immediately. It’s then likely that the FDR will go back to between LOW-MODERATE and HIGH over the weekend and into next week. 16.01.2022 MULGOA | UNKNOWN FIRE, Wallacia-1 and 1B have responded with Mulgoa Rural Fire Brigade to a report of an unknown fire on Nepean Gorge Dr. No fire was located. However Mulgoa-1 and 7 remains on site on Fairlight Road at powerlines down near Nepean Gorge Dr.

With a focus on teamwork and problem-solving, our members worked through four different challenges In teams of four. Training is one part of how we prepare for bush fires and other types of incidents.

( Mulgoa Hills Interface HAZARD REDUCTION ) Please read and share. Please be advised that this Sunday 4th October (weather permitting) the NSW Rural Fire Service along with National Parks & Wildlife Service will be starting a Hazard Reduction burn to the South/West of Mulgoa in the National Park Behind Notre Dame along Riley’...s Mountain Fire Trail. Locals are advised: the National Park will be closed to Visitors and Bushwalkers there will large amounts of smoke visible from Wallacia and the surrounding areas. there may be smokey conditions at times and to keep doors and windows closed. to avoid the area whilst the operations are in progress. to ensure areas around the property boundary are clear of excess material and any other potentially hazardous items Remember, only call Triple Zero (000) if you see an unattended fire. 09.01.2022 Some important information for residence of Wallacia. This year has definitely been a different and challenging one for most people and unfortunately Christmas will be to. But our local community will be happy to know that Santa has been in contact with us, to let us know that he’s looking forward to doing the lolly run around Wallacia on Christmas Eve with our members. During the lolly run, Santa and his helpers will be keeping within COVID19 restrictions and guidelines a...nd we will have pre-packaged lolly bags for the kids. While we are doing our best to keep you all safe, we ask that everyone remembers to social distance when around our brigade members and the surrounding people that are not in your immediate family at all times. If you or anyone in your family is unwell, we ask that you please stay near your front door. Our members are looking forward to seeing Santa and everyone who is around on Christmas Eve this one of our favourite times of the year.
