25.01.2022 Last night #NSWSES Ballina Unit members met online and learned about the theory behind Land Search Operations from our Land Search Coordinator. Soon we'll be training up new members in this important skill set in real life! We're using online platforms to continue learning safely, as well as holding small group sessions at our shed to keep our skills and knowledge up to date. Well done to these members down South who completed a Land Search course recently.

21.01.2022 The wind has picked up a bit this afternoon and we're looking at the BoM for some potential storm activity. Enjoy the cooler breeze!

20.01.2022 Let's help our friends in the #NSWRFS by being careful and obeying this Total Fire Ban.

20.01.2022 Going to be a warm weekend! Stay hydrated, in the shade, be safe in the water and most of all please don't light any fires.

19.01.2022 Looks like rain for later in the day - keep an eye on the BoM, and if it's flooded...forget it!

16.01.2022 Well done to our colleagues in the #NSWRFS. The strong winds make fire conditions difficult for firies, so let's help out by observing any fire bans.

16.01.2022 Well done #NSWSES Kyogle Unit members for this rescue conducted recently.

11.01.2022 High fire danger in our area tomorrow, please be advised.

09.01.2022 The NSW SES Natural Disaster Awareness Survey is now open and our local Unit wants to hear from you. Residents in the Ballina Shire area are strongly encouraged to take part in this online survey. Results will provide NSW SES with a better idea on how to work together with communities to increase preparedness for disasters. Please go to: https://nsw-ses.secure.force.com/r/NSWCommunitySurvey

08.01.2022 #NSWSES Ballina Unit supports Road Safety, today and always!

08.01.2022 Are you getting some rain at your place? A refreshing little rain band is sitting over Ballina and surrounds right now. No weather warnings in place so let’s enjoy the cooler evening. Drive carefully and to conditions, and remember to call 132 500 if you need any #NSWSES help related to storms or flooding.

07.01.2022 It’s been a busy week for #NSWSES Ballina Unit: we completed 125 jobs, attended 2 General Land Rescue and 2 Road Crash Rescue call outs, deployed 10 members to Lismore City Unit to assist with storm and flood rescue operations and hosted our Commissioner and acting Deputy Zone Commander. Great work by our committed #volunteers!

06.01.2022 A slow moving low pressure system is slowly making it's way down the coast, so the BoM has issued a flood watch for our region. This is a watch not a warning: a heads up to be aware of the potential especially for those alongside the Richmond River and travelling the area.

05.01.2022 Paw-some work by the #NSWSES!

04.01.2022 In case you're doing some storm clean-up this weekend, some handy tips here.
