25.01.2022 Around 9:00pm last night NSW SES Burwood Unit was activated by NSW SES Randwick Unit to assist Rescue & Bomb Disposal - NSW Police Force with a land search in Maroubra. We had 6 Land Search Operators in attendance and were on scene until the early hours of this morning, the hard work and dedication by our members insured a quick response to support the NSW Police Force. 16.01.2022 Tonight we conducted a Unit Exercise simulating a local hospital that was impacted by a Storm Cell was badly damaged, this excerise took approximately 2 hours to complete treating it like a real life situation and making sure we got every detail right. 2 Storm Water Heights Operators took to the roof to conduct important repairs to make sure the hospital could operate again, whilst our Operators were treated to amazing views of the Sydney CBD they took some time to soak in... the amazing views from our Units roof. We’re yet again reminded that we need to continue building our skills, over the last couple of months our unit has been trying our bests to build our capability and continue expanding our skills and we look forward to what new skills we can develop and expand on in 2021. 02.01.2022 Tonight along side NSW SES Ashfield-Leichhardt Unit we conducted a Land Search Exercise at Henley Park, where we had 22 NSW SES Volunteers on the ground conducting various searches for evidence and a missing person. Whilst this was a training exercise recent events show us we need to be prepared and ready to respond to a wide range of incidents that may occur. This land search gave us a great understanding of where we need more training and where our strengths are. ...
