25.01.2022 Good afternoon Liverpool. If you had any doubt that Friday’s windstorm was ferocious, the following photos show the damage that occurred on Twelfth Street Austral where multiple trees had been toppled. Once the power has been made safe, our friends from NSW SES Parramatta Unit spent several hours clearing the road to provide access for local residents. Thanks team. Much appreciated!

25.01.2022 UPDATE It came in like a wrecking ball. Extreme heat, blasting wind gusts of up to 82km/hr recorded at Holsworthy have caused havoc throughout the Liverpool Government Area.... The wind today has created 36 calls for assistance from residents, with still more trickling in. Our volunteers have given their all today to work through majority of these jobs, and appreciate residents patience as we have worked through these jobs on a priority basis. 24.01.2022 Heads up Liverpool - Some Severe Weather may be on its way. The BOM has indicated: * Winds of 60km/h to 80km/h may occur over the coming few days. * There is a high possibility of very strong winds late tomorrow morning into the afternoon and evening (Thursday). Gusts may get up to 100km/h. * Rainfall of up to 25mm may also be experienced.... Take the time to prepare your property now.

21.01.2022 Good Evening Liverpool. Strong winds have caused havoc across the Liverpool LGA. Damage has been reported from Chipping Norton in the East to Kemps Creek in the West. SES with the assistance of NSWRFS are working to repair damage and provide access. A big thanks to SES Units from NSW SES - Marrickville Unit, NSW SES Auburn Unit, NSW SES Hurstville Unit, NSW SES Kogarah Unit, Hunters Hill and canadabay who have helped out.

19.01.2022 Feelin' Hot, Hot, Hot! With temperatures in the Liverpool area expected to be over 40 degrees this weekend, below are some things you can do to stay safe in the heat. Drink regularly: even if you don’t feel thirsty. Water is the best option.... Look after your pets: Make sure your pets have plenty of shade and enough cool water to last the entire day. Stay out of the sun: Take shelter. If you need to be out in the sun, wear a shirt, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. Check on family, friends, neighbours: Keep a close eye on those most at risk, like the sick, the elderly and the very young.

Our volunteers worked into the early hours of this morning, and will be out again soon continuing to provide assistance. 14.01.2022 Morning Liverpool. When the end result is still larger than one of your team members, you know the job was big. 2 of our teams of volunteers worked for nearly 3 hours into the late evening to clear an extremely large and complex tree that damaged power lines and had closed roads in Busby. Since yesterday, 38 requests for assistance have been received at Liverpool SES and 1358 across the State following the strong winds yesterday.

09.01.2022 Good afternoon Liverpool. The potential for a full blown East Coast Low to impact the greater Sydney area this week has eased. However, there is still the possibility for 20-50mm of rain to fall, and wind gusts of up to 95km/h to occur across areas of the Sydney Metropolitan Area tomorrow (Tuesday).

09.01.2022 On a cold, windy and damp night our volunteers continued to hone their skills at our weekly training. Some of our members practiced their trailer reversing, a critical skill needed to launch our flood rescue boats. Our Storm & Flood trainees kept themselves a little warmer as they started to learn about height safety systems.

08.01.2022 Good Morning Liverpool. We were officially the busiest SES unit in NSW yesterday, with our volunteers in the field until the early hours of the morning. We continue to respond to requests for assistance this morning. There is the possibility that winds may reach 50km/h this morning, before decreasing in the evening.

07.01.2022 Over the last 24 hours, Liverpool SES has received 61 requests for assistance. Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers all requests have been completed. A massive shout out to NSW SES Strathfield Unit and NSW SES Parramatta Unit who assisted our local teams today, and units from Hurstville, Canada Bay, Hunters Hill, Marrickville, Kogarah and Auburn who were out last night.

07.01.2022 Its getting windy out there!!! Wind gusts of up to 83km/hr winds are currently being felt through the Liverpool area. Multiple calls for assistance are being received involving trees that have fallen over roads... Residents are being advised to secure loose items around their house and move their vehicles away from under trees.

07.01.2022 Wed like to congratulate Joanne, Joshua, Bishwas, Chris, Van and David from Liverpool who were today deemed competent in cross cut & limb (chainsaw operations). These trained operators significantly increase our capability to help the community during Storms & Floods. A big thank you to our trainers Stuart and Declan, and Colin from the Cronulla unit who ran the assessment. Well done all.

06.01.2022 These volunteers not only donate their time to the Liverpool community and the SES, they donate their blood as well. Over the past week, they have donated whole blood and plasma at the Liverpool Lifeblood Donor Centre - representing NSW SES in the Emergency Services Blood Challenge. Thank you to ALL donors and the fantastic Lifeblood staff.... Together, were transforming the lives of thousands of Australians.

05.01.2022 Over the last 2 nights, several of our members have under taken fit-for-task assessments on land and in the water. These assessments are required for people to qualify for our flood rescue courses, or provide recertification for our current flood rescue or flood boat operators. 04.01.2022 **OPERATIONAL UPDATE** We are starting to wind back field operations for the initial response phase of this severe weather event. So far we have completed nearly 100 requests for assistance since Sunday afternoon. As you can see from the map below the damage was widespread throughout the Liverpool area. ... Our dedicated volunteers are now spending time cleaning and maintaining our equipment to ensure we are ready to respond to further requests for assistance. 02.01.2022 ***UPDATE*** The BOM have updated their rain forecast for the Liverpool area which is now included in a severe weather warning zone. The rainfall forecast has been upgraded with significant falls likely.This means that there is a increasing risk or flash flooding over the next 12 to 24 hours. ...
