25.01.2022 Do you see yourself in orange?
25.01.2022 It was a blustery weekend with severe thunderstorms producing damaging winds across the Central Eastern parts of the State. Our #volunteers were busy responding... to over 600 calls for help, mostly for fallen trees. The beginning of this month marked the start of the #NSWSES storm season, which runs from October through to the end of March & where we see an increase in storms like what we experienced last weekend. Check out the NSW SES #stormseason launch clip for tips on how you can prepare for storms.
22.01.2022 Heavy Rainfall predicted over the next few days The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across the Mid North Coast, Hunter and Central Coast areas starting Thursday and continuing over the weekend. This has the potential to cause flash flooding and riverine flooding.... Prepare your property now. Bring in or secure any outdoor items in the yard or on the balcony, check your gutters are clear and your roof is in good condition, trim any overhanging branches and take care when travelling in severe weather conditions. Rainfall over the last few weeks in the Mid North Coast, Central Coast and Hunter area has contributed to a number of soaked catchments. This means water runoff and flash flooding is more likely in these areas. NSW SES advise to never drive, ride or walk through floodwater as this is the main cause of death during floods.
21.01.2022 How you can Commemorate ANZAC Day 2020 There’s no doubt that ANZAC Day 2020 will be very different to ANZAC Days of previous years. While we will not be gathering at services or marches, there are still ways to acknowledge ANZAC Day and ensure Australian servicemen and women are appropriately remembered. The RSL NSW has some suggestions for you on how to commemorate the day: https://www.rslnsw.org.au/anzac-spirit/
21.01.2022 With the catastrophic fire danger in force today. Please note this important information from our friends at the NSW Ambulance.
20.01.2022 The NSW SES is monitoring the ever changing situation in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. The safety and well-being of our members, and the wider community is... our highest priority. The NSW SES is implementing a number of measures to ensure the continuity of our operations and support our volunteers. Following advice from NSW Health, participation in non-essential community events, large meetings and ceremonies will be suspended. Volunteer training will be scaled back, but essential training will continue to maintain operational readiness. The NSW SES will continue to support communities become better prepared for severe weather events, and respond to communities in need over the coming months. When calling for emergency help during floods and storms, the NSW SES may ask you for additional information, including whether you are currently in isolation or have cold / flu symptoms so our volunteers can take additional safety precautions. We appreciate your assistance during this time. #NSWSES #covid19

08.01.2022 Although we do not currently have any fires in our area, with our current water situation and the weather coming it is vitally important we take care not to cause any fires. Our friends at the RFS have a lot to deal with across the state, we would not like to see a fire locally add to their work load.
07.01.2022 Murrurundi unit would like to wish you all a safe and happy Christmas.
04.01.2022 Murrurundi SES was called to provide support to NSW Police and FRNSW at a job in Willow tree after a Truck run into a house. Thankfully there were no injuries.
02.01.2022 Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and colleagues of the firefighters that have tragically lost their lives overnight. The NSW Rural Fire S...ervice confirms that two NSW RFS volunteer firefighters have died tonight near Buxton, in south western Sydney. The deaths occurred following a vehicle rollover earlier this evening during firefighting operations. It is believed the vehicle, while travelling in convey, hit a tree before rolling off the road. Another three firefighters have received injuries as a result of the accident. The Service’s thoughts are with all the firefighter’s family, friends and fellow brigade members. This is an absolutely devastating event in what has already been an incredibly difficult day and fire season.
02.01.2022 It has been nice to see some rain and see some water in the river. Please use common sense around the river and do not play and drive in the river.
