24.01.2022 And then there was mud!! Lots of mud!! Volunteers once again from NSW SES Ryde Unit spent the day on the Hawkesbury River moving supplies and people from Windsor to Wilberforce. With the river levels going down, there is a significant layer of mud left on the ground which made it difficult to load numerous pallets of food and supplies into the boats.... Big thanks to our flood boat crews!! NSW SES #hawkesbury #floodrescue #RESUPPLY

13.01.2022 Weather Outlook - Prepare NOW. Severe weather likely - Saturday. The Bureau of Meteorology advises: Showers and possible thunderstorms are expected across much of NSW on Friday and Saturday as a broad low-pressure system and associated trough cross the state. Rainfall is likely to be focused across the southeastern quarter of the state on Saturday as the low deepens off the southern coast.... As catchments are reasonably wet, forecast rainfall could cause flash flooding and some river rises, mostly about southeastern NSW and the ACT, including Canberra. Roads may also be affected, with water ponding over roads. Flash flooding is a risk across the southern inland on Friday. Thunderstorm activity across the central and northeast may produce hail, heavy bursts of rainfall and winds strong enough to bring down branches. Storms are likely to be very active about central districts including the Illawarra, Sydney and Hunter on Saturday. Across southern districts, heavy rainfall and hail is possible with thunderstorms. Strong winds may develop near the coastal fringe along the southern half of the coast on Saturday and Sunday as the low deepens. This may generate large waves. Conditions are expected to ease on Sunday as the low moves away to the east. Like. Share. Prepare. NSW SES advises you: Ensure your gutters and drains are clear. Ensure any urgent roof repairs are attended to. Consider any branches/trees that need urgent trimming. Where possible, avoid parking under trees during weather events. Keep away from stormwater and flash floodwaters. Never drive into, walk, swim, play or enter floodwaters - they can be contaminated and can lead to accidents that could be fatal. If you need emergency assistance to stop storm/flood damage or regain access to your property, call NSW SES on 132 500. If life-threatening call 000. See more

The coldest weather is expected today and Saturday when daytime temperatures may drop more than 4-8C below average for many locations. Thunderstorms are possible about the southern half of the state today, more likely across the southern inland and southwestern slopes. Whilst thunderstorms are not expected to be severe, they will be gusty and may pr...oduce small hail. Snow is forecast to low-levels along the NSW ranges south of Barrington Tops today and Saturday as the coldest weather impacts the state. A friendly reminder to drive to the conditions and prepare for storms before they hit.
