25.01.2022 Who doesn’t love a sausage sizzle? There is still time to head on down to Bunnings and grab yourself a sausage and a cold drink and say G’day to the crew.

23.01.2022 All of us here at Darwin unit were saddened to hear of the passing of a fellow volunteer and mate. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. You will be missed mate.

23.01.2022 Who doesn’t love the sound of a 4WD in low range, 1st gear, creeping down a hill at night? Four of our members qualified as 4WD operators today with another 7 due tomorrow. Learning skills to last a life time and of cause to help out on calls to assist the public as needed - super work crew

22.01.2022 We sure know how to have a great time at training! We start every session with a quick 5mins working on our knot tying skills then we crack into. Last night we had our senior members doing all things Storm damage related with setting up of the Roof Safety Kit and the newer members were put through their pacing doing a casualty stretcher carry and learning the foundation of doing a rescue from hights. Solid team work crew

21.01.2022 Out and about again yesterday looking at more trees that had come down in strong winds. There where reports of 95km gusts the other day, did you get the strong winds at your place?

21.01.2022 Last night at training saw our up and coming operators take on the last of their Induction training with an introduction to Knot tying, Generators and lighting, ladders, radios and equipment. Solid effort all - job well done.

21.01.2022 A big shout out to all our Dads today! Happy Father’s Day - thanks for being awesome volunteers.

20.01.2022 After some wild weather today this crew was out on the road to assess a report of a tree down on a house. Remember if you need assistance in a flood or storm call the SES on 132 500. If it’s life threatening always call 000.

19.01.2022 Oh shiny! Giving our boats and vehicles at bit of a bath to keep them not only working well but also looking sleek.

18.01.2022 Being able to communicate is key to a successful job for us, last night the crews got stuck into radio communications training learning new skills and refreshing on others - great work team!

18.01.2022 The crews where up and at it early this morning responding with Palmerston unit to call to assist in helping retrieve a person that had slipped down a steep embankment. Solid effort by all services involved and remember - barrier fences are in place for your safety, so pick wisely what side you stay on.

17.01.2022 A bit of healthy banter but lots of learning today out on the water taking seven of our members on their Small Craft course. Mastering towing of another vessel was just same of the cool things we did today! Job well done

15.01.2022 Check out this crew! Last night at training we learnt all about how to handle a casualty in and out of a stretcher.

13.01.2022 Team work makes the dream work. One of the great things about being a volunteer is meeting and working with all the other volunteers from all different walks of life and not mention learning life long skills along the way.

12.01.2022 They did it! 15 new boat operators ready to go. Taking to the water over the weekend learning and refining their skills, solid effort by everyone involved and a massive thanks to our trainers for giving up their weekend to assist. We made it off the water before the downpour of rain.

11.01.2022 Let’s we Forget

11.01.2022 They did it!! 11 new 4WD operators competent and ready to go. Putting in a solid weekend on the tracks doing all things from driving on challenging terrain, changing a tyre, using the winch and doing a snatch recovery. A huge thanks to our instructor for their time and skills and well done to all those that passed with flying colours! Another job well done

11.01.2022 Here’s our members smashing out more training! Over the weekend 4 of our members joined by Palmerston unit and the fire services becoming Land Search operators. The team put in a solid effort to get trained in the warm condition and into the night as well to be sure they can search at any time when requested. Great work team!

10.01.2022 This crew!! Give them a round of applause please. Members from Darwin joined up with Palmerston to take on a full weekend learning about all things storm damage related and are now our freshly qualified operators ready to go for cyclone season. Here they are pictured doing temporary roof repairs. Go team

09.01.2022 These two were definitely on the job this morning as they assisted with moving some equipment between SES locations. Need to keep our resources where they are needed most.

09.01.2022 How’s this for team work? Getting the job done, working together and having fun all while learning and maintaining skills! The aim of this training was to rig a stretcher and get the injured person to the other side of a ‘big hole’ in the ground. Maintain the rage crew

07.01.2022 Hands up if you know how to conduct a head to toe assessment as part of your secondary assessment when managing a first aid case Tuesday nights training saw our members learn more about 1st aid as they work towards getting their certificate.

06.01.2022 Everyone is in safe hands with this crew. Our new operators learning the ins and outs of lashing a person into a stretcher. Job well done by all

06.01.2022 Straight out of the boxes, dressed and sent out to training! These new training manikins where made possible thanks to the NT Government’s Community Benefit Fund. These are valuable resources that assist us in being able to creat and carry out life like training scenarios like pictured here - doing a rescue from a height.

05.01.2022 It’s R U Ok day and keeping in touch with our family and friends making sure they are ok is something we all should be actively doing. There is nothing wrong with talking about Mental Health and seeeking assistances. Don’t forget to check in with those you care about today.

02.01.2022 Never far from our thoughts and forever grateful for those within the police services that paid the ultimate price. We thank you.

01.01.2022 Deep and meaning conversations going on here or leaning and practicing the skills of giving a brief? We will let you decide.

01.01.2022 Did you see us out on the water today? We where training up our members from Palmerston and Darwin unit with a few of our friends from Bush Fires as well, to become boat operators. We will be out on the water again tomorrow so if you see our yellow boats give us a wave.
