25.01.2022 QLD NTEU Climate Crisis Action Networks new banner before the march and Jeff Rickertts brilliant speech yesterday. Proud to be NTEU and of our excellent sloga...n "climate change is union business" Looking forward to launching and building next year, helping mobilise to force the (coal-covered) hands of the climate criminals in government, both Palazszcuks Adani-enabling state Labor here and Morrison and his LNP mates in Canberra. Heres to supporting all unionists whove walked out of work in Sydney over hazardous smoke from bushfires, and the firefighters whove mobilised to demand proper funding for a professional firefighting force and an end to fossil fuels. More unions should make the same demands going forward and we should all support them! The politicians wont act on the climate crisis while they can profit exploiting workers and the environment, continuing the theft of Aboriginal land and endangering the health of ordinary people. Instead of focusing on the distraction of our almost negligible impact as individual consumers, lets actually address the main cause of global warming: fossil fuel emissions!! Strike, occupy, shut it down! Tear the system to the ground!!
