11.01.2022 From Melbourne to Perth to QLD and finally the NT! After two months in the NTFL and five months on the road it was time for AFL Umpire John Howorth to head back home! John has put in a huge effort to help develop and mentor the entire NTFL umpiring group whilst in the Northern Territory. ... The impact that he has had on the umpiring teams from Alice Springs to Katherine and even the Tiwi Islands, has ensured that all umpires are bigger and better in Season 2020/21. The time and effort he has devoted to the young up and coming umpires to help them excel is a testament to his character and shows what an asset he is to Umpiring in the NT We will hopefully see John return for more NTFL footy in early 2021! #NTFLUA #NTFLUAFamily #Umpiring #GetInTheGame Via AFLNT Umpire

05.01.2022 Hello members, in June, we reported that AFLNT CEO Stuart Totham had requested consideration of a move to an honorarium as an alternative way of paying umpires. AFLNT have now advised the move to an honorarium is no longer being considered for the 2020/21 season and they will provide further information regarding proposed changes affecting our members in the coming weeks. Kind Regards... NTFLUA Management Committee

04.01.2022 Congratulations Kimble! Another awesome addition to our umpires coaching group! #NTFLUAFamily #NTFLUA

04.01.2022 We have a huge Round 8 of NTFL ahead of us this weekend for the Towards Zero Road Safety Round. This round sees plenty of milestones with Sheryle Schmode chalk...ing up 350 NTFL games in the Womens Premier League match between PINT and Darwin Buffettes at DXC Arena. Sheryle has been a huge asset to the umpiring group and has used all 350 games of experience to help coach and mentor some of the young umpiring stars we see out there today. Awarded the Field Umpire of the Year after the 2019/20 NTFL Season, Sheryle has showed that she certainly isn’t slowing down after over ten seasons umpiring in the NTFL! We also have yet another debut in the Mens Premier League this week, with Pamila Jayawardhana making his debut in his rookie year! Brother of NEAFL Umpire Raj Jayawardhana, Pami has made an outstanding start to his NTFL umpiring career moving up the ranks to the Premier League after 7 games. Pami becomes the seventh boundary umpire to debut in the Mens Premier League this season. This shows that the boundary umpiring team have a strong future ahead of them. NTFL Boundary Umpires Coach Louise Turner stated It's been a great start of the season; already debuting a number of umpires and now to have Pami running out on Saturday with only a handful of games under his belt. Pami has shown amazing dedication to umpiring, with natural running and throwing ability and a keen attitude to learning and development. I have no doubt that he will achieve great things and hold his own out there on Saturday" Best of luck to all umpires across this Round 8 of NTFL!
