25.01.2022 STAFF PROFILE DAY Introducing (drum roll please) Vanessa! Bio: My name is Vanessa I have lived in Alice for 10 years and love it. Landed here as we had a Art Gallery in Alice and Melbourne . We took the plunge and moved here full time to get out of city. ... What's your role? I am an NDIS Admin Assistant. Yeah, but what does that mean? I do a bit of everything but mainly making sure that all the info is correctly added to our systems and supporting the EqualiTEA and COS teams so they can do their magic. What's the best part about it? What I love is not every day is the same and the amazing team I work with. I love coming to work every day. What do you do when you're not working? I have a background in Theatre and studied at Victorian College of the Arts . I painted backdrops for Scenic Studios while they were busy. They look after Australian Ballet and Opera backdrops which was amazing. Before that worked as a ski instructor in Victoria. Which is where the photo comes from. I am a long way from the snow. So, most of my holidays will be in the cold.

25.01.2022 From the CEO's desk... Final Goodbye It is with sadness and heavy heart I send out my final goodbye, with my last day being Friday 18th December 2020. I am leaving a very different organisation to the one I walked into on 6th June 2017....Continue reading

22.01.2022 IT'S HERE AGAIN..... STAFF PROFILE DAY! Bio: My name is Rasmita, I was born in Kathmandu, Nepal. I came to Australia 5 years ago for studies and I have completed bachelor’s degree in professional accounting. Just a year ago, I moved to the NT from Melbourne in search of a great career as I had heard from everyone that NT is the land of opportunities and prosperities. Since our relocation to Northern Territory in 2019, we have greatly adapted, and we are invested in our commit...ment to living in NT and making NT our home. What is your role: I am a NDIS Administration Officer Yeah, but what does that mean? That means I support the overall administrative needs of NTFS NDIS programs and I am responsible for supporting the corporate services, COS and EqualiTEA teams by providing high quality data and administrative services. What’s the best part about it? I just work my work. Either directly or indirectly I’m being able to help someone to get the supports they need. I am gaining more knowledge around the disability sector, disability services and the NDIS. What's the biggest challenge? Being new in the administrative set up but I am blessed to have a supportive team and management. What do you do when you’re not working? I love spending my time with my family, Cooking and spending time in nature.

22.01.2022 GET AROUND STAFF PROFILE DAY! Next up is Ashish (aka, Ash).... Bio: Hi, my name is Ashish Raj Jamarkattel, I know it's a long name and hard to pronounce, so my colleagues call me Ash instead. I was born and brought up in Nepal; it is a small piece of heaven on earth located in the Himalayan range. FYI, this is the country of Mt Everest and where Lord Buddha was born. I came to Australia in 2016 and studied Masters of Accounting and Business Administration in Sydney before mov...ing to NT, Katherine recently. I am in love with NT; it feels like flat land of Nepal, and Katherine looks like the town where I was born. What's your role: I am a corporate services Manager in Katherine Office Yeah, but what does that mean: My role is to manage the Corporate Services team- that includes Finance, HR, Asset Management, Quality assurance and Admin. I also liaise with the higher management in making operational as well as financial budgets and decisions. My other job as CS Manager is to give administrative support to the programs in NTFS. What's the best thing about it? The best thing about my role is that I know about how every program works and have coordinated with staff within various programs and worked alongside them to make their processes smooth. Also, working in Corporate Services is exciting as no two days are the same. So I have a lot of new learning experiences. What is the biggest challenge? When you are working with multiple programs and multiple departments, sometimes you take a lot of work in your hands with tight deadlines. What do you do when you're not working? Currently, when I am not working, I am studying as I am preparing for CPA. Otherwise, I am a big foodie and I like cooking, travelling and watching movies on my free time.

15.01.2022 STAFF PROFILE DAY- ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?!? Introducing Joe- seriously, you can not find a person who works harder than this guy! YOU try pushing a mower around during summer and tell us how you like it?!? ;) Bio: Hi all, am Joseph Mathenge, 33 years of age, proud husband and father of 1 son (and soon expecting another bundle of joy). I am very proud to be part of the Alice Springs EqualiTEA team, under the umbrella of NT Friendship and Support. I am born and raised in a ...beautiful country (Kenya), and I am sooo lucky to be here in Alice Springs with my family. Challenge me anytime for a marathon, and I will give you a good run for your money coz Kenya right there, is where you will find the best marathoners. What's your role: I am an Employment Engagement Assistant (EEA) working with the other phenomenal and delightful EEA Helen. Yeah, but what does that mean: I work with colleagues and participants to ensure we fully realise their skills for work, as well as engaging them with new employment opportunities. What's the best thing about it: Supporting participants during work and any other engagements which puts a smile on their face. What's the biggest challenge: This being a unique concept a couple of others in the industry still haven't grasped what we do and this has slowed down our progress with some participants not being ready on time for work, BUT we are working together with them to turn things around, for our lovely participants. When not at work: I spend most of my time with my son, and we like going swimming, cycling, and playing in the parks. I am also passionate about exercising and have become a gym rat of late.

What's your role: ...EqualiTEA Team Leader for Alice Springs Yeah, but what does that mean: I work with staff and participants to ensure each participant gets the best possible support and opportunities to reach their goals. What's the best thing about it: Meeting AMAZING participants and watching them grow and gain confidence. Knowing that you are supporting them to be the BEST version of themselves. What's the biggest challenge: Being new to the disability sector I find learning all the ‘lingo’ and how all the moving pieces (support services) work together. What do you do when you're not working: I love camping with my husband Brendan and just being with nature, it keeps me grounded and balanced. I have a new found love of baking and trying to ‘fatten-up’ my work colleagues I am succeeding!!!
