23.01.2022 Receiver of Territory Monies new office The Receiver of Territory Monies (RTM) in the Charles Darwin Centre, Darwin will be closed from 3pm today while the office moves to the Ground Floor of Manunda Place on the corner of Knuckey and Cavenagh Streets Darwin. The Casuarina RTM will remain open at this time and the new Darwin office will be open from 10am tomorrow, Tuesday 15 September.
22.01.2022 Today we are honouring Sallay Mahomet’s birthday! Born in on this day in 1911, Sallay was a renowned Afghan cameleer of the Territory. He helped the author Rob...yn Davidson to prepare her journey with camels documented in her famous novel, ‘Tracks’ (1977). He achieved further fame when the Whitlam government sent Sallay to Saudi Arabia to deliver the gift of Australian camels to the king in 1975. Sallay later said that this moment .[w}as one of the greatest points in my life, as far as I was concerned really, the trip, a hundred percent. Great honour, great honour that time. 20.01.2022 Annual Darwin Harbour Clean-Up another successful day On Monday Fisheries staff assisted in the Eleventh Darwin Harbour Clean-Up organised by the Larrakia Ran...gers. This year’s Clean-Up saw nearly 200 volunteers from 27+ groups and 183+ bags of rubbish collected totalling approximately 2.099 tonnes of rubbish collected. The most common items collected were plastic bottles, broken glass/ceramics, foam, packaging and fishing line. Our Fisheries staff were operating in the Hudson Creek - Elizabeth River area and removed a boat load of old rope and abandoned crab traps. Well done to the Larrakia Rangers for organising another successful day.

The project will involve a strategic review that delivers recommendations for improvements, enhanced connectivity and network extension. Cycle Path networks in the following locations will be reviewed: Greater Darwin Katherine Tennant Creek Alice Springs Whether you use the cycle and shared path network to commute to work or school, or for recreational purposes, or other purposes we want to hear from you. 17.01.2022 Visits to the Tiwi Islands, Humpty Doo Barramundi, and breakfast with industry leaders were part of a packed itinerary this week for the Territory Economic Reconstruction Commission. Co chairs global business leader Andrew Liveris and former NT Chief Minister Paul Henderson were joined in Darwin by Commissioners Infrastructure Australia CEO Romilly Madew, Australia’s former top public servant Dr Martin Parkinson, NT Treaty Commissioner and advocate Prof Mick Dodson and former... opposition leader Gary Higgins. Their fellow commissioners in former Westpac and St George Bank CEO Gail Kelly and climate change advocate and entrepreneur Eytan Lenko joined key engagements remotely. The Commission will hand its Final Report to the Chief Minister on priority actions and strategies to accelerate the Territory’s post-COVID 19 economic growth late this month.

Under the current BuildBonus scheme, Territorians can access a grant of $20,000 until 31 December 2020. ... 16.01.2022 This year’s Parrtjima A Festival in Light attracted more visitors to the Alice Springs event than ever before and generated almost $10 million dollars in economic revenue. Independent Research commissioned by the NT Major Events Company confirmed the 2021 Festival in Light helped boost visitation, jobs and economic flow-on benefits. It shows:... There were more than 23,200 attendances across the 10 nights Of those, more than 15,300 were unique visitors 5,200 attendees said the festival was their key motivation for visiting the Territory This event was estimated to directly support more than 13,300 days of employment and 60 full time equivalent jobs. For the 2021 event, visitation driven specifically by the event was up 113.8 per cent when compared to last year. It was also up significantly on the 2019 event. The research also shows big increases in other benefits of holding the event including a Total Expenditure Stimulus of more than $11.5 million, of which almost $10 million was new money to the region and is a direct result of Parrtjima taking place. This is more than double the Total Economic Impact from 2020 which was just over $4 million. 09.01.2022 NSW COVID-19 Testing & Quarantine Directions The Chief Health Officer has declared quarantine and testing directions for people who have been to a COVID-...19 case location in New South Wales, effective immediately. New South Wales health authorities have advised that a confirmed case of COVID-19 from Melbourne was in Jervis Bay, Goulburn, Hyams Beach and Vincentia while potentially infectious on 23 and 24 May 2021. The CHO is directing any person who has arrived in the Northern Territory since 23 May 2021, or who will arrive in the Northern Territory and has been to a NSW COVID-19 case location at the dates and times specified to: Any person defined as a ‘close contact’ by NSW health authorities must immediately get tested and undertake 14 days of quarantine in their home or at a suitable place. They must remain in quarantine (unless to get tested) until noon of the 14th day after they were in a NSW COVID-19 case location, regardless of whether they return a negative COVID-19 test. Any person identified as a ‘casual contact’ by NSW health authorities must isolate, get a COVID-19 test and remain in self-quarantine until a negative is returned. Any person who has arrived, or who will arrive in the Northern Territory and has been in New South Wales since 23 May 2021 must check the NSW Health COVID-19 case locations website at least once per day and comply with these directions if a place they have been to becomes a COVID-19 case location. 08.01.2022 The Territory is shooting for the stars as the NT Government and the Darwin Innovation Hub sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cap Vista Pte Ltd, the strategic investment arm of the Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency, and Singapore Space & Technology Ltd (SSTL). The MoU will enable the NT Government to be a strategic overseas partner to Project Cyclotron, a space technology focused venture building program.

Unless the situation changes, from 9am on Saturday there will be no remaining South Australian hotspots. This means that people from South Australian hotspots currently in quarantine will be able to leave after being tested and returning a negative test.
