21.01.2022 I post this misty morning shot of the #mackeayvalley hinterland by @finmatson to honour the indigenous peoples that lived in harmony with this unique ‘country’ Gondwana . Before the day that First Fleet sailed into Botany Bay only 300 years and is now celebrated as Australia Day , much of the country comprised of a cultural landscape, shaped by millennia of sophisticated land management. Importantly, the focus of this integrated, active cultural practice was ecological. It was aimed at the creation and maintenance of diverse, healthy and regenerative ecological systems continent wide that would last indefinitely....here at Nulla Nulla Blacksmiths Farm, we honour this aboriginal country , we cry for you , we walk with you

21.01.2022 It started with a friendly welcome from our host & supper yummy farm fresh food hamper. Then 3 days of relaxing, swimming, an awesome massage, more swimming & more relaxation. Our fur babies enjoyed the timeout & adventure as much as we did. We are looking forward to returning.

21.01.2022 Agriculture cannot survive long at the expense of the natural systems that support it and that provide it with models .... we can build one system only within another . We can have agriculture only within nature, and culture only within agriculture. St certain critical points these systems have to conform with one another or destroy each other. Under the discipline of unity, knowledge and mortality come together . #wendellberry #anewearth

15.01.2022 Plants are solar factories and the foundation of all life’s processes on land ....let’s all celebrate the new year in with a pact to plant out spaces so that green plants can use the abundant source of the suns energy to take carbon from CO2 in the atmosphere and convert it to carbon-based sugars. This process , called #photosynthesis And it’s sugars are the fuel of everything that lives on earth, it’s also the best way to put carbon back where it belongs....#carbonsequestration

13.01.2022 Yogurt and grapes for breakee. Happy to announce Hennypenny has 7 new bubs . Only one is hers, we snuck some of the fertile White Suffolks eggs under her in the maternity ward #freerangekids

12.01.2022 With the continuous removal of the canopy - dominant species (=big logs ) over the last 2 centuries most Australian forests have n lost most of the rainforest species , creating a highly inflammable Eucalyptus monoculture . Without the shade of the canopy trees , and also not allowing trees to become mature and live out their life cycle, compounded by the forests no longer being to able to hold moisture, compounded by cattle eating young seedlings we have tinder boxes . Here at Nulla Nulla Farm with the assistance of #landcareaustralia we are about to commence a rainforest revegetation plantout. Keep you posted !

11.01.2022 Unplugging from the internet dominated world in a wooden cabin by the edge of a strand of She-oaks on a crystal clear watercourse brings deep insight into what it means to be human at a time when the boundaries between man and machine are blurring . To quote the Nintendo Quit Screen message ... Everything not saved will be lost ....

11.01.2022 Nature has been remarkably vigilant in loudly reminding us that we must stop destroying her . Every decision we make must value all aspects of nature and learn again to live in harmony with it. We must stop supporting life styles that do. Remember we are nature too, made from the same stuff as the forest. A healthy body and mind with make a resilient personal and general populous immunity against these viruss that are emerging from an unloved natural world , our world . Nature is showing us the way

09.01.2022 My lemon and ground almond tarts have been rather a hit with the cabin guests this season. So much so (and with our citrus season over in the orchard )Ive resorted to foraging bush lemons from the road side #janegrigsonrecipe #foraging #chemicalfreeskin

08.01.2022 Drying the Italians. We are building up seed stock this year , to put down a bumper crop next. The flavour of this garlic is gourmet sweet and rich. The soil was dancing with microbial life. Did you know that the soil bacteria is the same as our gut bacteria! The plant uptakes the soil bacteria and minerals for its growth nutrients . So when we ingest food, that is grown naturally , we are getting the best nutrition and consequent good health. Just as importantly we are also putting the right bacteria into our #gastrointestinaltract via the plant . Yeah tonnes tastier than eating soil ! #gutbiome
