20.01.2022 A brilliant work of art, with a very serious message.
19.01.2022 I get to spend a lot of time outdoors in the environment, watching the sun rise and set, tides rise and fall, lightning striking the earth and the ocean constan...tly changing. I am in constant awe of nature and its power and energy. The ocean here in Victoria has been nothing short of amazing the last few days. So much swell, power and intensity, creating many great photo opportunities. This photo i took early this morning at the Point Lonsdale pier is one of my favorite photographs i have ever taken. To me it sums up the power of nature and the ocean and how insignificant we humans really are. Seeing things like this makes you realize how good it is to be alive to witness such power and beauty. This will be my first time ill be releasing a Limited edition print of an image. There will only be 20 prints of this image ever made. Each numbered and signed with a certificate of authenticity. Message or email me for details or to order a print of this amazing image. [email protected] www.petejamesphotography.com

09.01.2022 The notion of how a home can shape a family is fascinating. As you read the stories of the Western Districts Golden Age in Great Properties of Country Victoria..., the history of the district and incredible stories of those who have farmed the land, is palpable. The district, famed for its sheep grazing, is home to many grand properties but as the stories tell, these families once lived differently: the story of Mount Boninyong is that in 1838 Andrew and Celia Scott and their four children and servants came to Australia from Glasgow and for the first nine months the family lived in tents made of tarpaulins that were lined with blankets. Then they built a wattle and daub hut that, which would be their home for the next forty-five years (p128). This and many more fascinating family histories tell the story of one of Australias great pastoral districts. Author Richard Allen will discuss The Story of Houses with photographer/author Kara Rosenlund on Saturday 21st at 6pm at the Vue Grand coach house. See more
