19.01.2022 Round 15 and back to earth we come. Div 1 travelled to Finley RS this week, which is always a tough assignment, and so it proved again with only one rink getting up. Seig and his rink of Jimmy, J.A. and Noel continued their brilliant run of form to bring home our only 2 points for the trip. In a result that could spell the end for Div 2, it was a case of so close, yet so far, going down by 11 shots to Barooga but coming away with a rink win and a draw. Hugh Henderson's rink h...ad a great win getting up by 7 shots, while John Allen bought home the draw in his rink. To add salt to the wound, Finley managed to get up over Numurkah Golf making the gap between us and them now 17 points. Some favorable results and a couple of wins could see us safe, but with only 3 games to go, the task gets harder. Div 4 travelled to Cobram this week and suffered their first loss in a very long time. Howard provided the only win for the day getting up by 5 but it wasn't enought to provide the win. We are still in the top 2 and only 2 points from top spot, so the world can still be righted before finals begin.

11.01.2022 The second last round of the regular season saw Div 1 take on Numurkah Golf at home. While we tried all game and fought hard we couldn't contain Golf who are finals bound going down by 31 shots. Div 2 also took on Numurkah Golf but away from home. In what could be the defining game of the season for our guys, we knocked off Golf who are knocking on the door of finals. Hugh Henderson's rink had a massive win getting up 39-12 setting up the win. Ann Dealy stepping in to fil...l up some absences we had this week led her team to a draw getting us one more valuable point. We are now only 6 points behind Finley who we play this week in a battle to avoid relegation. Div 4 bounced back onto the winners list and in doing so have taken back top spot on the ladder. Dev's rink battled hard and fought out a tough draw. Sue Shaw stepped up to fill a gap this week and did so in excellent style. Her rink played fantastic to get up by 9 shots. Top spot and finals bound. Excellent job everyone. See more

08.01.2022 Round 18 completed and Season 2016-17 has come to a close for most of our teams but what a way to finish the year!! Div 1 travelled to Strathy and bought home an emphatic win. Seig finished out his great year with a massive 36-9 victory. Don Staggard in his first game back as Skip played out a thriller getting up by 1 shot on the last end. Brenton's rink started strongly and continued through the whole game in this vein finishing with a gigantic 46-9 win. ... Div 2 hosted fellow cellar dwellers Finley in a battle to avoid relegation. In what was a hard fought game that came down the last bowl, our guys managed to get up 3 shots overall and hold their spot in Div 2 for next year. Clarky's rink had a great day getting up 27-16, greatly helping the end result. But the man of the moment, Peter Dealy played a brilliant last bowl to somehow shoot the kitty sideways to go from 1 down in the head to 2 up and seal the win. Great result and sets us up for a great run next season. Div 4 travelled to barooga to do battle against the team in second place. Dev again fought out a hard earned draw while on the other rink, Howard Lowe came up trumps getting up by 10 to ensure the win and top spot. Div 4 will now be playing finals and as they are the only team from our club playing I would expect a good contingent of supporters to head to watch and cheer our guys on. Good luck guys and bring home the bacon.

07.01.2022 And that is that. Season 2016-17 has come to a close for us. Div 4 had an epic battle at Strathy and fought all the way to the last end to go down by 3. Howard's rink had a great battle and came out with a draw but Dev's rink, who led by a large margin early couldn't contain a rampant Cobram who flew home. Our biggest killer for the game was dropping big numbers when we lost an end. Congratulations to you all for the fantastic year you have had. Let us not forget how good your year has been. We just tripped at the penultimate hurdle.

06.01.2022 Feeling hot hot hot. All games on the weekend were cancelled due to the extreme heat forecast. Although there were no games played a working bee was held on Sunday and a huge thank you is extended to all who were available to assist. As always, your help is greatly appreciated and never under valued. You are the lifeblood of our club!

01.01.2022 So..... would you like the good news or the bad news? Bad news, our guys lost in a very close fought battle. Good news, we have the second chance!!!!! While we were ahead for most of the day, we just couldn't maintain the tempo and stumbled at the end. Howard's rink fought out a hard game going down by 1 shot.... Dev's rink had a long hard day and ended up going down by 4 in a close encounter. As our guys know, we played below our normal capability and it would not take a large improvement to reverse this result. Let's all get around the team this week at training and give all the support we can. We play at Strathy again this weekend so everyone get down there and give our guys a huge support base. Best of luck!!!!!! See more
