21.01.2022 What have you done to keep occupied during COVID-19? We are asking people to make a patch to put on a quilt to which we will hang proudly to remember how resilient and resourceful our community can be. You do not have to be a patchwork expert, just make us a patch that shows how you got through. I have posted a couple of quilts form other communities for inspiration. The patches need to be 27cm x 27cm square with a little bit left over for stitching to the quilt. Call NCLC if you would like more information.

11.01.2022 Do you have fruit trees that are laden? Too many vegies in your vegie patch? Packets or tins of food you know you won't eat? Toiletries you collected on those motel/hotel stays? This year alone we have distributed more than 300 food parcels to people who needed assistance. Have you thought about donating to the Numurkah Community House? We are grateful for any and all food and toiletry donations. Respect and dignity for all.

As many of you know, we have been providing support for people for a long time and this year especially has been busy in helping people who have had a tough time. Christmas is coming soon and we are asking for help to put together some hampers of Christmas food. If you can spare a little or a lot, please drop it in to the Learning Centre at 99 Melville Street

09.01.2022 Last week was Children’s week. On Thursday and Friday at Bridie Knight Childcare we celebrated with three year old fun group and occasional care. Made possible with funding from the Victorian Government, the children decorated pots and planted seeds in them. They are now waiting eagerly to see them sprout. They made pizzas and had some party foods as well. Thanks to Jayne, Kirsty, staff and especially the children for a fun time!

05.01.2022 Can you spare a couple of hours a week, fortnight or month? Would you like to help people and contribute back to the local community? Need an excuse to get out of the house, enjoy the weather and meet people? We are doing a call out for volunteers for the Numurkah Community House and Garden, Numurkah Information Centre and Craft Shop. There are various volunteer positions and venues that you could help out at. ... You could volunteer at one or a couple of locations, totally up to you. Numurkah Community House and Garden The community house is located at 13 Murray Ave in Numurkah. You can pick the time and hours that best suits your needs 24/7. We would need you to open and close the house, be there to have a chat and provide support to people that visit. Some days no one will visit, some days you can get a few visitors. You could spend time in the garden anytime and day, or you could more visit the other volunteers to catch up for a chat. Donations of food are always welcome at the community house. The Visitor Information Point (99 Melville Street) Do you have some knowledge about the region or would like to learn more about it? Are you available to talk to visitors who come into the Visitor Information Point? Craft Shop Are you crafty? Do you like to bake? Maybe you would like to volunteer at the Craft Shop located at the old brick Court House next to the NAB Bank. Get to know like minded people that love to craft, create, share ideas and have a chat.
