24.01.2022 A Numurkah woman is warning locals to beware after she received a convincing scam text message purporting to warn of COVID-19 cases in the local area. Locals enjoyed a COVID-safe concert last weekend as a front porch on McDonald Street was transformed into a stage for busking musos. We catch up with Cactus Country founder Jim Hall for a cuppa, and hear about the adventures, both on and off the green, of local lawn bowls legend Alan Rogers. These stories, photos and more in this week's Numurkah Leader - out now!
23.01.2022 Beware of this text scam
22.01.2022 Happy Thursday.

19.01.2022 Do you gave a question for Moira Shire Council candidates? The 2020 Victorian local government election is just weeks away - registered voters should be receiving their voting papers in the mail in the next fortnight, with all postal ballots needing to be returned to the Victorian Electoral Commission by 6pm on Friday, October 23. The Leader will be posing a set of questions to each of the 17 candidates running for Moira Shire Council, with the answers to be published in our October 7 edition. If you have a question that you would like each of the candidates to answer, let us know by midday next Monday, September 28, for the possibility of having it added to our list.

16.01.2022 Numurkah Leader editor Bev Hutchins is retiring as of today, and handing the business over to Dominique Cosgriff, after the Leader has been in Bev's family for 112 years. Moira Shire has been accused of 'grinchy' behaviour for attempting to cut workers' entitlements on the eve of Christmas. St Joseph's School and St Vinnies are teaming up again this year to deliver some food, presents, and Christmas cheer to those that need it most. Property, land and farms are selling quic...ker than ever in the Numurkah district, and for record high prices. Santa Claus sits down for a Cuppa with Dom. And Geoff Sutcliffe and Frank Houlihan are off to the Goulburn Valley regional bowls pairs finals, after taking out the Murray Bowls division pairs last week. 12.01.2022 Seventeen people, including eight current councillors, have registered to run for election to Moira Shire Council in next month's Victorian local government elections. Numurkah and Wunghnu Cemetery Trust's barring of vehicles from Numurkah cemetery, apart from during limited hours on Sundays, has upset some regular visitors to the cemetery. A new food access service to address short-term food insecurity has opened at Numurkah Community House. These stories, photos and more in this week's Numurkah Leader - out now!
11.01.2022 A 42 year-old Numurkah man has been arrested and charged with a range of offences relating to the ram-raid at Numurkah Foodworks on October 5 this year. The charges, which include theft of a motor vehicle and burglary, were laid after Cobram detectives and Numurkah police members executed a search warrant at a Tocumwal Road address this morning. Read the full story in next week's edition of the Numurkah Leader.
11.01.2022 No chance of this happening today, but enjoy a rainy day in. Happy Friday.
