May Gibbs (1877-1969) author, illustrator and cartoonist has capture...d the hearts and imaginations of generations of Australians with her lovable bush characters and fairytale landscapes. We're lucky to hold a remarkable collection of Gibbs' original illustrations, cartoons and literary papers, most of which was deposited into the Mitchell Library in 1970! Nundle has a small, beautiful community veggie garden on the Library ground...s, thanks to this group effort. Apologies to partners and spouses for the time over-run! We also thank those who have already given or promised us plants. What goes around, comes around, in the form of a harvest. And the Garden has already had four visitors pull up and chat.
