23.01.2022 Happy World Breastfeeding Week to all the mummas out there #wbw2018 This is a topic I'm incredibly passionate about...... I've had people say to me as a first time vulnerable mum:... Why are you still breastfeeding? When are you going to wean? You are spoiling your baby..... You should just give up You are breastfeeding your baby too much Surely your baby is not getting anything good now from your breastmilk Still I persisted & I educated myself on all the amazing health benefits to me & my baby. I spoke to professionals, I'm also incredibly grateful to have a supportive breastfeeding tribe around me who have encouraged me when I have wanted to give up many times All mummas are doing a fabulous job no matter how you feed, formula or breastmilk, we all deserve to be celebrated this week xoxo

23.01.2022 Yes she co sleeps most nights so we can all get much needed rest, Yes sometimes she sleeps in her cot but always ends up with us, Yes we have tried formula, expressing breastmilk & yes shes always hated a bottle, Yes we are still breastfeeding at 15 months, Yes she still wakes up multiple times at night (shock horror some babies/kids actually dont sleep through the night for a long time & its completely normal), Yes we cuddle her all the time & don't do crying it out - its what works for us as parents & her as our child.......every baby & parent is unique so do whatever works for you as a family and try not to stress (this is hard as a first time mumma) about other peoples judgements & experiences. 22.01.2022 Benefits of breastfeeding past 12 months, I found this so interesting as I am still breastfeeding at 18 months. I find it's harder now that my child is older to breastfeed in public. You get a lot of questions & stares but did you know the World Health Organisation recommends breastfeeding up to the age of 2 & beyond All mummas should be proud no matter how you choose to feed, we are all doing what is best for our individual children. #breastfeedingsupport #breastfeedingtoddler #sunshinecoast

08.01.2022 I had a realisation today that I have breastfed my amazing daughter for 670 days & Im not afraid to celebrate it Through ongoing health issues, exhaustion, working on a small business, having medical professionals laugh at me that I was still feeding, judgements thrown my way daily.........Im so proud of how far I have come, I don't regret one day of it. They host lots of educational & fun activities including weekly rhymetime & storytime. Reading & rhymes are so important especially in the first 5 years of development for your bubba. Willow has been going since she was 8 weeks old & she loves it. Just google your local library & all the activities are listed online.
